Is it legal for an auto dealership to issue a new temporary tag when the old one expires?

I recently purchased a car from a dealership in Tennessee. (I live in Virginia.) The dealership had a great deal of difficulty sending me the title paperwork. Finally, the paperwork isn't here and the temporary tag is about to expire. The salesperson has offered to give me a second temporary tag. Is this legal?

They aren't supposed to do this, but yes some dealerships do. If they do give you a new temp. tag they are going to have to do a new bill of sale, because if you get stopped you need to have the right dates on the bill of sale when you hand it to the police officer. They really need to just hurry up and do the paperwork, but if they redo the bill of sale, you can take the temp. tag.

You have been stopped by way of an officer that become the two a rookie, or blind to the regulation. often times it happens. The others confirmed up because of the fact he requested for decrease back-up. They assumed it become going to be something regarding a sturdy criminal, despite the fact that it become greater suitable than in all probability your officer requesting clarification on the regulation while it consists of momentary licenses and registrations.

In my state, the DMV issues temp tags repeatedly every 10 days for people who have issues.

So I cant imagine the dealer is going anything god-awful.
