When is it appropriate to buy a guy a boutonniere?
I'm going to a semi-formal dance with my boyfriend and he's not wearing a jacket. He'll be wearing a button-up shirt and a tie. He's getting me a corsage. Should I get him a boutonniere?

Perhaps a bit ott these days, and shoud be worn with a jacket, not just a shirt.
So I would say no unless he wears a jacket, then it could be a nice touch and he could always remove it at any point.
