Rock and Pop- What is a good biography on Jim Morrison you guys would recommend?
Im sort of starting to go though a doors phase right now, and Jim seems like he was a pretty interesting guy. I was at the school library today during lunch because i'm kind of annoyed with my friends (long story) and i decided it would be better to just go to the library and study for a science test and sneak in some food there but i saw i book on Jim Morrison and i started reading it and i didn't get to studying xD. I'm pretty sure i failed the test. But anyways, what is a good, non BS biography about him you guys would recommend me reading?

There are a few that are pretty good. I would highly suggest A Feast of Friends by Frank Lisciandro. This book is composed of interviews from people that knew Jim, some in his childhood years, some during film school, some from being around that band, and a few others. The book shows all of Jim's different personalities based on his relationship with that person.
Another book I like is The Lizard King Was Here by Mark Opsasnick. This book focuses on Jim's teenage years while living in Alexandria Virginia (about 15-18 years old) I like this book because it talks about a part of Jim's life that you normally do not hear about and is very in depth and detailed. Both of these books unfortunately, can not be bought in stores, but I ordered both from amazon and they were definitely worth it.
The Doors coffee table book is nice, and has a lot of nice glossy pictures. It shares many interviews from Jim's family and the other members of The Doors. The book's author is listed at Ben Fong-Terres. I like the books by John and Ray (ROTS and LMF) They both talk about the band's and the member's personal relationship with Jim.
Break on Through by James Riordan and Jerry Prochnicky is great for the basics, and seems to be as factual as a biography can be.
In general I would not suggest NOHGOA and the movie because it is not as factually correct as other books out there, its great for some basic information, but not for strictly information.
If you could manage to buy the book online I would suggest FOF but any books listed would be pretty good, especially BOT for general knowledge.
MQ: Not to Touch the Earth
MQ2: Jim Morrison, I don't think I can fully explain my interest in him, it would literally take days
BQ: Besides FOF, Canyon of Dreams Harvey Kubernik: it's really interesting and talks about many different artists.
BQ2: That happens to me all the time. Right now I am actually avoiding doing schoolwork, and earlier today I was reading Doors articles for a research paper rather than studying for physics during my once a week study hall.

Movie - The Doors (Val Kilmer when he was good actor)
Book - No One Here Gets Out Alive
(I've never read any other book about him so I can't compare, but it was good. I went through a Doors phase as a teen.)
MQ-Favorite Doors song
People Are Strange
MQ2-What rock star do you find the most interesting and why
Tupac Shakur, because of the life he lived, his family's history with the Government, and all the strange incidents he was involved in.
BQ-Favorite music related book?
My Metallica Tablature Book, even though I was never a big fan, I liked to play their music
BQ2-How often does your interest in music distract you from doing hw/studying/work or whatever your supposed to be doing?
Not much any more since I do nothing anyways.

The doors movie
and btw, despite being so artistically talented(I love the doors) Jim Morrison was a flaming waterhead and didnt really seem to care about anyone outside his fantasies
