Atheists, what is your favourite depiction of god?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bumba_%28god%29

i particularly like Bumba since he manage to vomit things into existence as opposed to simply naming them out.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dionysus

Dionysus is also up there being the god of revelry and boozing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loki

and finally Loki for being so bad *** and trickster..

of course, they are all fake unlike the blessed flying spaghetti monster.

but what is your favourite depiction of god?

Ares for the killing?

Zeus for humping anything that moves?

IPU for being invisible?

Thor for the thunder?

Rainbow snake for being pretty awesome?

Aphrodite for ***?

there is quite a choice out there

if you are christian, please dont answer with jesus/god/holy spirit/similiar, it should be obvious which one you like due to bias.

likewise goes to the other religions although you lot are more of the minority so you dont get a mention :P

So many good choices, but I've always fancied Quetzalcouatl myself. I'd totally want a feathered snake as a pet.

I have to say I have a soft spot for Aphrodite :)

    Venus de Milo!

she's just so beautiful, isn't she?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus_de_Milo

She's the epitome of beauty, real beauty!

Tbh, I don't think any gods can beat the Greek Gods.

I like Ares too, he's just so handsome ;)

    .....and the sun? :)

Difficult to decide, but as you say it's a moot point. It's really all about the F*M (PBUH). I appreciate the links, btw, I learned something already today. I learned what a herme is. I found particularly interesting how good luck is obtained...I'll have to try that.

Oh and any references to the F*M should be made as I have done, using the asterisk so as to avoid even the possibility of spelling His name incorrectly, an affectation I've adopted from others.

It is strange but ancient societies in northern Africa Worshiped Crocodiles.

I love Crocodiles, they are by far my favorite predator, and these

people would sacrifice humans to these amazing beasts.

They would wrapped women up in long strings, and put them on these reed life perservers and just foat then into the nile. they would disappear into the murky water and God was appeased. His Name was SOBEK, Which which i have on a patch on my motorcycle jacket.

Source(s): I know it sounds sick but i have always been partial to the stranger religions and how cross cultures "sacrifice" to appease God. Almost all of them do.

The Morgan Freeman one mentioned before, and South Park's hippo-cat-lizard god. Brilliant.

Saturn. through fact I extremely tend to take excitement in the day named after him. Failing that, quite much any of the pantheons. i admire the view that gods are fallible because it removes the undertaking of evil which you get with an all-powerful, omniscient, and benevolent god.
