Would covering popcorn in chocolate stop it from going stale?
I'm wondering if using white chocolate to fully encase popcorn will help it stay fresh. I know it's moisture in the air that causes food to go stale, so I'm hoping that a complete covering in chocolate will prevent this.
Let me know if you think this would work or any other suggestions to try.
Thanks!
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes8 years agoHow can I play Sims 3 without the World Adventures disk?
I want to play Sims 3, a relatively simple request, right? I also have World Adventures installed. I currently have the Sims 3 disk and serial number, but only have the World Adventures serial number, not the disk.
Every time I try to open Sims 3 it requests the World Adventures disk to be put in, which I don't have and don't even want to play!!
Is there some way around this? I heard of some kind of crack.exe but have no idea what that is, where I get one, or how I use it. Should I just uninstall World? I really freaking want to play Sims >=S
Both copies were bought legitimately, if that helps. And they're on PC.
Thanks for any help!
2 AnswersPC9 years agoFrick! Should've gotten his number! Is it too late?
I was doing reptile shows and the sound tech guy kept coming over to the displays and having a chat with me, also inquiring as to if I was working the next day. I finished my shift, gave him a handshake goodbye and he clasped it with two hands. I dunno if this is significant or not.
Kinda regret not getting his number or facebook details or something and I'm not working with him anymore. I know his first name, should I massively facebook hunt him? Or should I get another staff member to get his details for me? Or does he sound completely not interested and I shouldn't bother.
I know this sounds like some teenage drama but I'm kicking myself for not doing this in person, and just need a bit of advice.
Thanks, appreciate it
1 AnswerSingles & Dating10 years agoName for a blog about Aussie reptile care?
I'm looking for a catchy title for a blog about Australian reptiles (snakes, lizards, turtles, crocs, etc), focusing on general info and their needs in captivity. I'll also be including insects, amphibians, marsupials and birds, but I'm mostly interested in reptiles.
The title should be short (3 words/4 syllables max), catchy, unique, non-sexual (e.g. play with my python, meet my snake), mention something to do with snakes/reptiles/lizards/pythons, and preferably a little amusing.
I'll be working on my own title in the meantime, but if anyone has any suggestions please share them, even if you don't think they're good, I need lots of inspiration.
Thanks!
2 AnswersOther - Advertising & Marketing10 years agoCan any of these flowering plants be kept in pots and indoors?
I'm developing an interest in flowering plants, but only live in an apartment with no access to a private outside area. Are there any flowering plants I can keep? I have a particular interest in lavender, lilac, lily of the valley, peace lily, daphne, irises and roses. I live in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia) where winter is wet and cold, while summers are dry and hot.
Thanks for your help!
6 AnswersGarden & Landscape10 years agoStomach hurts a lot. Could this be food poisoning?
I ate some flourless lemon butter cake or something like that. It tasted ok and looked alright, but I'm a bit iffy about how long it's been in the fridge. Well, it's been about an hour and a half since I ate it and my stomach has painful stabbing pains through it, kind of like a really bad stitch. It gets worse when I straighten up. Could it be from food poisoning? Or would it be a cramp from hunching over my desk typing an assignment out for the past few hours?
If it is food poisoning, on one hand D= but on the other hand, an excuse for not going to uni tomorrow! =D but still...owies =(
2 AnswersOther - Health10 years agoWhat career would a Bachelor in Biological Science get me?
I'm thinking about studying Biol Sciences, what career paths would this take me down? Is Zoology one of them? What level of study would I need to land a successful career? Bachelors, masters, PhD, etc?
Thanks for any help you can give on the topic =)
5 AnswersBiology10 years agoWhat's involved with becoming a psychologist or sleep therapist?
I'm thinking about going to uni to do Psych, what is involved in actually becoming a psychologist? I spend 3 years getting my Bachelors and then work? Masters? PhD? Work?
Also, if I get my bachelors for psych, would that put me onto the path to work in sleep therapy? I find it fascinating, but am not sure how to get into that line of work.
Thanks for the help!
1 AnswerPsychology10 years agoPsychology or Biological Sciences?
Leaving Chemical Engineering studies because I hate it; i stuck with it coz job prospects are amazing and they pay is brilliant, but eventually realised there's no point studying something you hate.
I'm now choosing between Psych and Biol Sciences but am torn between the two.
Can anyone give me advice or information on the two? Stuff like expected level of study (in Vic, Australia), job prospects, options, etc?
Thanks!
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)10 years agoWhat martial arts would you recommend?
I want to get into martial arts for self-defense, fitness and confidence building. What ones do people recommend, especially if you've practiced them yourself? Which would be better for girls?
I've narrowed down the list to the following:
Judo
Jiu-jutsu
Aikido
Taekwondo
Brazilian Jiu-Jutsu (BJJ)
Wushu
I'm not really into boxing, kick boxing, wresting or Muay Thai. And I don't mind katas.
Thanks for the help!
17 AnswersMartial Arts10 years agoSculpting with marshmallow fondant?
I'm making a cake for a girlfriend's 21st and want to sculpt little farm animals. However, normal fondant is really not great tasting, can I use marshmallow instead? I've heard it tastes really nice, but I've never worked with it before. Any help or advice would be fantastic, thanks!
Also, you don't think a farm animal cake for a girl's 21st is too immature do you? Naaaaahhh, not if it's cute enough =)
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes10 years agoWhat are some unique, interesting jobs out there?
I'm looking for interesting, fun, wacky jobs that will stand out on a resume and will be a lot of fun. I'd prefer it if they don't require much commitment (like weeks of work) or training, but I'll work around it if they do.
Things like extra, or playing Santa at the mall.
Just a bit more detail on me, if it helps, I'm 20, female, engineer, barista, have RSA, love kids and animals, live in Australia.
Thanks!
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoMy betta fish died this morning and turned white. Why?
I'm not sure why he died coz he seemed fine the night before - eating, swimming, behaving normally - but when i woke up this morning he went from blue-turquoise to white with black mouth and purple-grey fins.
Also, he's probably about a year old, had moved tanks 4 days ago (although my other moved fish, including another fighter are doing fine) and lives with other fish, although they don't bother each other.
If anyone has any information on why this happened, I'm very interested to hear it. If it's a disease will it hurt my other fish in the tank (mollies, bristlenose catfish, cardinal tetra, neon tetra)? Thanks!
6 AnswersFish1 decade agoI'm having difficulty finding squash shoes, can I use tennis or badminton shoes instead?
I'm not playing squash professionally/competitively at the moment (although am considering), but still want a pair of decent shoes for when I'm playing.
I live in Melbourne, Australia, where squash isn't a common/popular sport, so I'm having trouble finding shoes. However, there are heaps of shoes available for tennis and badminton - are these suitable for squash?
If yes, should I buy shoes online or should I find a retailer? And does anyone know any retailers?
Thanks heaps!
3 AnswersOther - Sports1 decade agoTo GSD breeders, what are your thoughts on white German Shepherds?
If you have them in a litter, what do you do with them?
Do you believe they are inferior?
Do you think they should be allowed into shows or be marketed as a separate breed (e.g. Swiss Shepherd)?
I own two white GSDs, both of which are stunningly beautiful, capture the attention of strangers, have amazing temperaments and have excellent genes, and hip and elbow scores.
Several years ago, white GSDs were seen as genetically inferior and even disposed of at birth. I'm just curious as to what your opinions of them are now.
And I just want to make sure you know this isn't an attack on black and tan GSDs (I'm planning on owning one when I'm older) or a claim that white's are better than black and tan, I honestly just want your opinion.
Thanks!
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat are some simple, nice things to do for friends?
I finish exams a couple of weeks earlier than my friends. When they get really stressed I want to be able to do something nice for them just to brighten their day a little, maybe give them a few laughs.
I want to do things that are relatively cheap (i.e. not going out and buying a pressie for every one) and won't take up much of their time as they're trying to study (so no movies or stuff like that).
The aim isn't to de-stress or help with study, but to amuse them and make them happy. Stuff like leaving nice messages on post-its on their door, or baking a cake/slice and giving them some.
Any more ideas like these? Thanks a bunch!!

1 AnswerOther - Music1 decade agoWhat are some unusual, unique jobs out there for a 19 y.old girl?
Not only would it be super fun, but I've heard it's a good idea to have an unusual job on your CV/resume so that it stands out to employer (doesn't matter if it provides useful skills, so long as it's memorable).
What are some of these jobs that I could apply for? Just some examples so you know what I'm looking for:
Mascot
A mall-Santa (or perhaps elf)
Party-bus hostess.
Thanks for the help!
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoWhat happens to the air at 100% humidity?
A friend asked me the other day and I had no idea! I looked it up and found a lot of stuff explaining that air doesn't hold water, that the air is saturated, that relative humidity is a comparison of wet bulb and dry bulb temperature, that rain won't necessarily form, etc etc. But nothing actually stated what the air acts like: does it form droplets when it comes into contact with something? Does it form clouds or fog?
Thanks for the help!!
6 AnswersWeather1 decade agoUrgent fish tank help! Why are my ammonia levels spiking?
Okay, I have two tanks at home. One is tiny (3L) with a filter that is the home of 1 solitary Siamese fighting fish. The other is 30+ litres with a filter, heater, a fighter and 4 neons (they get along exceptionally well, no lectures about putting fighters with tetras).
The bigger tank is fine with its chemical levels, while the small tank has huge amounts of ammonia (approx 6 - 8 mg/L or ppm). Why??? I do regular water changes using a syphon (to get food out of gravel), have a filter, and have never had problems with it before. I took the tank off a friend (he originally kept 4 neons in it, too many I know, which is why i moved them into a bigger tank) but even then ammonia was fine.
The filter is set up so water passes through a fine, fibrous white layer, then activated carbon, then a coarser black sponge/mesh stuff. Would the ammonia levels rise coz the carbon is running out?
Also, is it ok if when doing water changes to replace the old water with water from the larger, established tank? It has no ammonia, almost neutral pH,no nitrites and no nitrates and should contain the bacteria that reduces ammonia.
Please help with my fish, he's starting to look really sick!
