Would be better if people just quit like I did. I am so happy now that I quit.I Feel more active and alive. I was addicted to it for six years. I don't care one way or the other about legalization just that people would be so much healthier if they quit.

Yes I believe Marijuana should be legalized. If it was legal our crime rate would drop because of all the dealing about of it. Also if it was legal and we had a tax on it we would most likely pull ourselves out of our bad economy in America. If Marijuana was legal we would also have less criminals in our overcrowded prisons. Which America hates so much.

One thing I don't understand is how people think its a horrible drug, and that it kills brain cells and makes you stupid. People, get your facts right. Alcohol and Cigarettes have killed thousands more people then Marijuana. Yet somehow they are legal. Also Marijuana doesn't have the harsh chemicals like Cigarettes. And it doesn't impair your judgment like Alcohol. If Marijuana was legal the U.S. and the world would be a better peaceful place.

Yes. I don’t smoke, but I definitely think it should be legal, provided that it is regulated like alcohol (no minors, and no driving).

It makes absolutely no sense that cannabis is illegal while alcohol and tobacco (both of which are MORE harmful and MORE addictive) are legal.

    Legalization would:

    - Create thousands of (legal, income-tax paying) jobs

    - Devastate drug cartels, which would suddenly be without 75% of their income

    - Provide an enormous windfall for the government, which would bring in billions in taxes and SAVE billions more on law enforcement (ending Prohibition played a big part in getting the U.S. out of the Great Depression)

    - Allow police, courts and prisons to focus their resources on DANGEROUS criminals, rather than harmless potheads

    yes it should,

because it will not kill you,

it is a natural herb, and it grows, just like tobacco

it is not chemically made like meth, crack, coke or tobacco...etc.

and it is a choice if you want to smoke it or not

    it is exactly like cigarettes,

    some people choose to smoke

    others do not,

why is it legal to smoke something that is more dangerous than weed?

cigarettes have more poison in them then marijuana will ever have.

weed gives you a high feeling, if you want a bigger high if you smoke more

cigarettes also give a sense of high, hence people addicted to cigarettes more than weed

plus FSC cigarettes which are in pretty much mandatory in every single state

have the same components as carpet glue

now tell me which is gonna kill you a cigarette or marijuana?

I'd be in favor of legalizing it.

    Taxation & regulation.

    Not a very harmful drug.

Enforcement of marijuana laws costs money.

Incarceration of marijuana users also costs money.

Why should the government care if some loser wants to get high?

Source(s): Liberal, but very much an anti-drug person (as in, I'd never use any).

    Absolutely.

The reasons why are in the historical facts associated with Cannabis. There are far to many to list and this question is asked often but you can do the research to form your own opinion.

Check out sites like norml.org, or http://www.drugwarrant.com/articles/why-is-marijua... or even look at the American Medical Association who just reversed their opinion of Cannabis.

yes i believe that marijuana should be legalized. If alcohol is legal marijuana should be legal. Alcohol makes people get angry and crazy and makes them do stupid stuff. While marijuana makes people calm and relaxed and also it makes you hungry so it can cure all them eating disorders that people have. As well as alcohol affects much more of your body system than marijuana does.

Unlike cocaine, heroin, and alcohol, Marijuana is used in its natural state. That is to say, it is harvested and consumed(No distillation type process). Those other drugs are not. So, knowing that, who has the right to tell me that I cannot enjoy nature's harvest. Why is it okay for someone to have a couple of martinis when they get home from work, and not okay for me to take a few tokes from a joint instead. Hypocrisy!

If you want to see some of the propaganda that was put forth to promote the criminalization of marijuana, watch the film "Reefer Madness". What a joke!

Thats not a fair question to ask because it is perception. Life is based off of perception. Now do I believe it should, YES. Alcohol is a drug and kills more brains cells than marijuana, so yes.
