Where would I look for something like this? (Or rather, what is it called?)?

I'd like to attach a metal swinging arm to my desk that holds a microphone. I sit very far back in my chair, and I don't want a clip-on microphone or one that stands on the desk. Plus, it'd be fun to build something. So, I need a swinging-arm type metal thing that swings out and up. Sort of like the one that's on the lamp in this photo:

I'm sure I could find one at home depot, but does anyone know what exactly to search for on the net? I'd like a few resources before I go out searching, in the event I can't find one.

Thanks!

J

Get a mic stand. It's fully adjustable.

I think it's called an arm hinge although I've never seen one that swings up.

This may be fabricated as per your requirements... Or you can possibly look for a gooseneck spare in the wholesale spares market.
