Info on Raito Yagami from Death Note?!?!?!?!?
I am aware that Raito (Light) Yagami lived in the Kanto region of Japan (I am currently researching the regions of Japan) and that he lived in Tokyo. But did he live like in the suburbs of Tokyo or what? And if you know please tell me how Tokyo is divided. Like explain the layout of the city. Thank you!

There is no mention in the manga or anime of the exact location, however, judging by the looks of his house, he is probably located on the outer region (Ota, Shinagawa) whereas the HQ where his father works is more central. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tokyo-all-w... There is an article on the anime locations on http://www.desunoto.com/ too.
Tokyo is divided into smaller sections. The "central" region is divided into 23 'wards' (ku in Japanese), and the western Tama Area is made up of 26 cities (shi), 3 towns (cho) and one village (son). The 23 special-ward area and the Tama Area together form a long, narrow stretch of land, running about 90 kilometers east to west and 25 kilometers north and south. The Izu Islands and the Ogasawara Islands, two island groups in the Pacific Ocean, are also administratively part of Tokyo, despite being geographically separated from the metropolis. The islands have between them 2 cho and 7 son. http://www.magicdestination.com/tokyo/

Try Googling "aerial map of Tokyo" to see the layout of the city.
When Misa visits Light at his home, you can see his neighborhood; that might help you. Look for when she tackle-hugs him as he's walking down the sidewalk.. You can find which episode this is by browsing through the episode guide on Wikipedia, or by Googling "read death note online" and scanning through the manga.
