If a restaurant hosts a charity drive, are guests more likely to come? I need facts please.?

I go to a college where I will be running a restaurant for a week. As a marketing idea, I though to host some form of charity drive. My teacher wants facts that if I do that, guests will attend. Can anyone help me find related articles or statistics proving it is a good idea? Thanks!!

I have no published facts to give you, except two experiences.

    1) My church in Tulsa, OK frequently partners with restaurants to donate a percentage of the ticket during a certain period of time on a certain day. The "event" is mentioned several times from the pulpit, as well as in all bulletins. The turn out is fantastic. There are several restaurants that I had never even tried before, but now I patronize frequently (even without the charity drive), because of my initial desire to support the church.

    2) My company sponsored a similar event which was wildly successful. Not only was the restaurant extremely busy that night, but our business developed several leads, just as a sponsor.

I hope your teacher will allow these hands-on experiences in lieu of published facts.
