Did Colin Powell the Republican, support Barack Obama because he was black?

Most likely. But keep in mind Powell had a change of heart and left the Bush administration because of the faulty war in Iraq. He might have become more liberal since then. It's probably a combination of the two.

Yes he did this swung a lot of voters that thought this was a good idea because of Colin Powell's performance as a Military Leader and he did not lead the war in Afghanistan. I think Colin Powell is the only black person to support Obama not because of his color but because he believed in Obama. Most black people voted for him because of his color. Its a fact.

I don't think so. Powell wasn't pleased with Bush and the neocons, especially "Dick" Cheney. That's why he left. They rarely listened to them. He knew that McCain voted with Bush about 90% of the time, and the chances of a McCain Admin making any kind of change was slim to none.

It had little or nothing to do with race - Powell sat and watched Bush and "Dick" constantly lie through their teeth, and saw what the war really was about - oil, and tons of free taxpayer money for friends of the neocons.
