Do I put this position on my resume? If so, how do I explain it?
At my previous employer I was offered a position that related to a special project. However, the project itself kept experiencing delays and I never really did do much for that position. I did train and certify for it, and I did a lot of theoretical work relating to the project. The position was quite different from my previous role.
My current resume doesn't include any info on this position, but would it be worth mentioning? If so, how? If you have done something like this on your resume, how did you incorporate it? Thanks!

On your resume, under that employment & position, list that work as 'additional duties'. In all resumes, always include all worthwhile work experience. But try to keep the resume and discriptions as brief as possible. Nobody, especially experienced interviewers, wants to read a length resume. Just include the facts. If it's pertinent to the job they have in mind, they'll ask questions. Good Luck.

It might not hurt to mention the position, at least it would look as though you have more experience in a certain area; whether this position actually accomplished anything is beside the point.

Yes, it is worth mentioning. You should list the training you did and mention you are certified. Also, document any theoretical work you did for this project.
