Can somebody point to a country that has collapsed or is failing because of too little government?

Update:

I agree that countries fail for more than one reason. Thanks for the rundown of countries. Africa is tough to nail down. I was looking in the CIA World Fact book and it lists most of those as democracies, but I think they are closer to dictatorships on the whole. The remaining are steeped in anarchy.

Yes, some government is necessary for a functioning society. There is a tipping point as to too much government.

The argument is how much is too much. I believe the U.S. is heaed for too much.

I suppose that would really depend on if you are talking about anarchy or just less government regulations.

Or do you mean a strong central government?

You could even make an argument that a weak government has a weak military and will have most certainly under those circumstances fail.

Countries never fail for a single reason.

Edit: Homes, your belief that the USA is about to reach the "tipping point" because of too much government is meaningless. You can't explain what it means, you can't offer any evidence to back it up. It's just libertarian dogma, it's not an argument.

As long as there is a basic health service and education for all nationals of that country (Note: Not the world), then less is definitely more in the Government stakes.

Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan... (or do you consider those "successful" countries?)

nope. I can only think of countries and conglomerates that have imploded because the people got sick of too much government
