Does Washington know better?

Anyone, including Barack Obama, who is telling people that Washington (as in the Federal Government) knows better, has to be a liar. The United States is a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Everyone has a stake in making this government better, and for making this government WORK better. Example: Has Washington ever show they can run a business any better than an ordinary citizen? The answer has to be no, because if they could, we would not have a financial crisis. If they know better, they should be able to run it better than they do, right?

rather have a guy who i can vote out of office making the rules than some high paid executive who is not accoutable to me.

who knows baseball better - the players or the umpires?

if the players know better then why have umps call the games?

because it's the job of the govt to set a framework from which business to operate within.

I trusted the stock market and business and here are the results:

1. invested in savings and loan institution- lost $5,000 [in 1980]

2. invested in mutual funds-lost $250 [in 1975]

3. invested my children's college funds- lost $10,000 [in 1983]

4. invested over a 30 period of time in an IRA account-lost 50% [in 2007-2008]

I'd rather trust someone else beside business.
