Jamaican cuisine, favorite dishes?

Escovitch and jerk chicken are probably most popular but I want to know what real Jamaican's love to eat. Also, do you make special dishes on Easter? ONE LOVE!!! P.S. The more scotch bonnett the better.

Update:

Although it's easier to put links to other sites for this info., as you may know, I like to know what people like personally.

Update 2:

Yes, Scotchies is one of my favorite places to eat in JA.

DonaA: I love Scotchies too. Their fish in the foil and the jerk chicken are out of this world. My favorite Jamaican foods are: Jerk chicken with rice and peas, curried goat, oxtail and more rice, ackee and saltfish, steamed snapper and of course more rice, and all the various Jamaican soups. One of my all time favorites is "mackerel run down" with some roasted breadfruit and a big chunk of pear (avocado) on the side with some lemonade to wash it down. (It's really limeade since Jamaicans use a lot of lime.) For Easter, I like steamed fish and rice or ground provisions, sorrel drink, bun and cheese, of course.

Sublimeonelove, I envy you right now. There's so much snow in the north, I can't even get out of my driveway.Life's not a BEACH, but this is where the jobs are. I guess I'll just have to stay in and make pumpkin beef soup. Sigh.

Not Jamaican, but Jamerican. Every time we visit, got to have Jerk. Pork and chicken. Scotchies has great jerk. Best is to get it from the roadside vendors. Also love Patties. Can't get enough of those. Really like Curry Goat also.

Real, slow cooked, jerk pork. Mmmmm. It's pork rubbed with a combination of herbs, spices and hot pepper, then slowly smoked over green pimento wood (wood from the allspice tree) I also love their pepper pot soup. It's not spicy (even though the name sounds like it is). It's made with a callaloo (a local green), very delicate flavor. Delicious. I'm a big fan of Jamaica rice and peas (really small red beans and rice, lightly spiced, steamed with coconut milk) and Jamaican patties as well (a pastry "hand pie"/turnover filled with spicy beef or callaloo)

not Jamaican but from the Caribbean. I enjoy jamaican food. best is oxtails when done RIGHT! lil hot bonnet sauce (I like putting cilantro puree in mine). w/ plantains fried (yes I'm Dominican) or jasmine rice- the best white rice and it just soaks up that oxtail stewey flavor. mmmmm.
