Do you think the Health Care "Summit" really accomplished something?

Or was it a dog and pony show that benefited the politicians only? I hate to seem pessimistic but they can have all the "summits" they want to make it appear that all voices are heard but still go back and do the backroom deals. Summits do not create legislation.

Update:

Erok ... I can't believe you are actually quoting that great INTELLECTUAL Chris Matthews. The man is a moron.

This is what the Health Care "Summit" accomplished:

It reestablished the fact that the REPUBLICANS ARE THE PARTY OF THE ANTI-INTELLECTUAL.

Seriously, the democrats came to the summit with a strategy and the republicans came with a script.

    "Start Over"

    "Clean sheet of paper"

    "Scrap the Bill"

    "Step by step"

as Chris Mathews said ... "What an embarrassment!" The republicans obviously rehearsed like robots before this one and it showed. As far as the summit actually accomplishing anything substantive ... not a chance. The mindless drivle the republicans put out there works on their below average IQ middle class Fox News base.

It did accomplish something. It showed the people of this country that Barry has no intention of listening to any of us. This was just a show of reaching out, and a clear signal that we are going to get what they decide we need, whether we want it or not.

No, it's just a show for us. What really happens will be in private, and we won't know a thing until it's too late.
