does anyone know any overweight runners?
Used to run and was in fantastic shape. Trying to lose my last 20lb of baby weight. Just need confirmation that runners lose weight and are in great shape LOL

That was me 2 yrs ago after kids but I was 50 lbs overweight--gone from a 14 to a 4.
You can definately do anything you set ur mind to do.
Running isn't about how in shape you are (bc that comes later) but how much u can psych your mind into getting out there and doing it and sticking with it.
Good luck :)

I compete (well run in) a lot of races - one a month - and these races have a lot of runners all gathered together in one place and are a good place to see the shapes of the runners. At the front row all the lean think runners gather and then a behind them all the normal people gather. From what I have seen runners come in all shapes and fitness levels in a race.
It is true however that the more you run then you are likely to become leaner and fitter

If the amount of energy you put in your post baby workouts is the same as your post, you are in trouble. After my first child, I crash dieted and lost all the weight without much exercise. My body still had all the sags and stretch marks. I gained all the weight back plus ten more when post partum hit me months after having a child. Currently, I lost 45 lbs from running. I started at the gym by running only one mile at a very slow and painful pace. Today, I can run 7 miles easy, snow, rain or sun. And, I haven't dieted. I just make more conscious decisions of what I eat so I can be a terrific role model for my child.
