The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society claims to be God's sole channel of communication today (WT 7-15-60, p.439; WT 12-1-81, p.27). They believe that Jehovah commissioned them as His sole representative in 1919 and that only by serving God as a part of this organization can one ever hope to receive everlasting life (Vindication, Vol. 3, p.250; WT 2-15-83, p.12). This is a very bold claim that should not be taken lightly. If, in fact, God is using the Watchtower as His channel, we would do well to heed to their publications as truth. If God is not using them we should not only flee from them, but also warn others of their counterfeit religion. So, how can we test this group to see if it really is the one true religion? One excellent way is to review their own writings and publications. Let's just concentrate on one topic right now. Since they have claimed to be Jehovah's prophet (WT 4-1-72, p.197), have they ever predicted anything that failed to come to pass? 1888 The Time Is At Hand, (1911 ed.), p.101 "....the setting up of the Kingdom of God is already begun, that it is pointed out in prophecy as due to begin the exercise of power in A.D. 1878, and that the "battle of the great day of God Almighty" (Rev. 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced." 1894 Zion's Watch Tower, 7-15, p.226 "We see no reason for changing the figures-nor could we change them if we would. They are, we believe, God's dates, not ours. But bear in mind that the end of 1914 is not the date for the beginning, but for the end of the time of trouble. We see no reason for changing from our opinion...." 1917 The Finished Mystery, p.485 "Also, in the year 1918, when God destroys the churches wholesale and the church members by millions, it shall be that any that escape shall come to the works of Pastor Russell to learn the meaning of the downfall of 'Christianity'." 1920 Millions Now Living Will Never Die, p.89-90 "Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews chapter eleven, to the condition of human perfection." 1924 The Watchtower, 7-15, p.211 "The year 1925 is a year definitely and clearly marked in the Scriptures, even more clearly than that of 1914...." 1925 The Watchtower, 1-1, p.3 "The year 1925 is here. With great expectation Christians have looked forward to this year. Many have confidently expected that all members of the body of Christ will be changed to heavenly glory during the year. This may be accomplished. It may not be." 1925 The Watchtower, 9-1, p.262 "It is to be expected that Satan will try to inject into the minds of the consecrated the thought that 1925 should see an end of the work...." 1931 Vindication, p.338-339 "There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1914, 1918 and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time. Later the faithful learned that these dates were definitely fixed in the Scriptures; and they also learned to quit fixing dates for the future and predicting what would come to pass on a certain date...." 1941 The Watchtower, 9-15, p.288 "Receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon." 1942 Consolation, 5-27, p.13 "Further proof that these princes will shortly take office upon earth as perfect men is found in the prophecy of Daniel....Proof is now submitted that we are living at the "end of the days", and we may expect to see Daniel and the other mentioned princes any day now." 1969 Kingdom Ministry, June, p.3 "In view of the short time left, a decision to pursue a career in this system of things is not only unwise but extremely dangerous....Many young brothers and sisters were offered scholarships or employment that promised fine pay. However, they turned them down and put spiritual interests first." 1974 Kingdom Ministry, May, p.3 "Reports are heard of brothers selling their homes and property and planning to finish out the rest of their days in this old system in the pioneer service. Certainly this is a fine way to spend the short time remaining before the wicked world's end."

Everyone that uses the Bible and believes it to be the inspired word of God is Christian. There are ONLY 2 groups of Christian. Christian Goats and Christian Sheep. Jehovah's Witnesses are the ONLY Christian Sheep. Everyone else that shares their trinity beliefs are considered Christian Goats.

(Matthew 7:21-23) Jesus said, “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

(Matthew 25:31-46) “When the Son of man arrives in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne. 32 And all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will put the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left. 34 “Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, YOU who have been blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for YOU from the founding of the world. 35 For I became hungry and YOU gave me something to eat; I got thirsty and YOU gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and YOU received me hospitably; 36 naked, and YOU clothed me. I fell sick and YOU looked after me. I was in prison and YOU came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous ones will answer him with the words, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty, and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and receive you hospitably, or naked, and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to you?’ 40 And in reply the king will say to them, ‘Truly I say to YOU, To the extent that YOU did it to one of the least of these my brothers, YOU did it to me.’ 41 “Then he will say, in turn, to those on his left, ‘Be on YOUR way from me, YOU who have been cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels. 42 For I became hungry, but YOU gave me nothing to eat, and I got thirsty, but YOU gave me nothing to drink. 43 I was a stranger, but YOU did not receive me hospitably; naked, but YOU did not clothe me; sick and in prison, but YOU did not look after me.’ 44 Then they also will answer with the words, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them with the words, ‘Truly I say to YOU, To the extent that YOU did not do it to one of these least ones, YOU did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will depart into everlasting cutting-off, but the righteous ones into everlasting life.”

God and Jesus are not the same one.

(Exodus 3:15) Then God said once more to Moses: “This is what you are to say to the sons of Israel, ‘Jehovah the God of YOUR forefathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, has sent me to YOU.’ This is my name to time indefinite, and this is the memorial of me to generation after generation.

(Deuteronomy 6:4) “Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah.

(Psalm 83:18) That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.

(Isaiah 43:10) “YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none.

(Luke 18:19) Jesus said to him: “Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.

(John 14:28) YOU heard that I said to YOU, I am going away and I am coming [back] to YOU. If YOU loved me, YOU would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

(Luke 22:69) However, from now on the Son of man (Jesus) will be sitting at the powerful right hand of God.”

(Acts 2:33) Therefore because he (Jesus) was exalted to the right hand of God and received the promised holy spirit from the Father, he has poured out this which YOU see and hear.

This link gives a Jehovah’s Witness VS Christian Doctrine Comparison Chart:

    http://www.4jehovah.org/jehovahs-witness-beliefs.p...

The most essential doctrinal difference between Jehovah's Witnesses and orthodox Christianity is concerning the person and nature of Jesus Christ.

JW’s misconstrue the words “only begotten,” “beginning” and “firstborn” in the Bible to teach that Jesus was created. The Greek word “monogenes” (only begotten) actually means “unique or one of a kind.” Jesus was uniquely God’s son by nature, meaning that He has the very nature of God. The biblical understanding of “arche,” (beginning, from Rev. 3:14) is “the origin; the active cause.” The biblical meaning of the Greek word “prototokos” (firstborn) is “first in rank” or “preeminent,” NOT “first created.”

The Bible actually teaches that Jesus was from “owlam,” or from everlasting, in Micah 5:2. 1 John 1:2 refers to Jesus as the “ETERNAL life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us.”

The Watchtower Society teaches that, “it is logical to conclude that Michael (the archangel) is none other than Jesus Christ in his heavenly role.” (WDTBRT, p. 219) The Bible says, "For to which of the angels did He ever say, "You are My Son..." (Heb. 1:5).

Mainstream Christians believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus: Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up”… But He was speaking of the temple of His body. (John 2:19-21) The Watchtower Society teaches that Jesus was not bodily resurrected from the grave, but that “Jehovah God disposed of that body in his own way;” “God caused it to disappear” (TTSMYF, My Book of Bible Stories) and that Jesus, who was recreated as a spirit creature, materialized or manifested different bodies in order to show the disciples he had been raised. (YCLFIPOE, Awake! July 22, 1973).

But Jesus specifically said to his disciples, "See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." (Luke 24:39)

JW’s teach that Jesus’ sacrifice was a “corresponding ransom” that paid the price for Adam’s sin so that the rest of us could be free to work for our salvation and eventually grow to perfection during the 1000-year reign of Christ. (WDTBRT) Mainstream Christians believe that Jesus died not only for the sins we inherited from Adam (our sin nature), but also that He died for our personal sins. 1 Pet. 2:24: “and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”

JW's don't believe that Jesus will literally return to the earth. They used to teach that Christ returned invisibly in 1914; now they believe that Jesus began to rule over the earth from heaven in 1914. This is the "good news" they teach about Jesus...that He and 144,000 co-rulers will rule from heaven over the rest of us on earth. The "good news" Christians preach is that Jesus Christ was sent from the Father to die for our sins that we might experience forgiveness; that He was buried and three days later was raised from the dead so that we might have eternal life if we put our faith in Him.

JW's cannot pray to or worship Jesus. If they are found "guilty" of worshipping Jesus, they are disfellowshipped. They are then shunned by their JW family and friends. The Bible says that Jesus is worthy to receive glory and honor and power (Rev. 4:11), and that we are to honor the Son even as we honor the Father (John 5:23). Also, Jesus said, "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it." (John 14:14)

As you can see, the Jesus of the Watchtower Society is “another Jesus…a different gospel.” (2 Cor. 11:4)

The Watch Tower rejects that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is Immanuel which means God with/among us.

Many quotes through out the Watch Tower publications discribe Jesus as a man that was an angel.

The Jehovah's Witnesses are taught Jesus was the perfect man, a great teacher, an example but not divine.

    Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians.

True Christians recognize that the one true God is Jehovah (Psalms 83:18), and that Jesus Christ is NOT God, but the created SON of God, the very first of God's creations (Revelation 3:14; Colossians 1:15).

The ones who are NOT Christians are people who put their faith in man-made doctrines that go contrary to what the Bible teaches. Non-Christians include individuals who believe in the "trinity", who believe "Jesus is God", and who believe in nonsense such as hellfire, immortality of the soul, and all "good" people going to heaven. None of those beliefs are consistent with the Bible or Christianity.

  • First of all, Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians.

    http://www.watchtower.org/e/200704b/article_01.htm

"One dictionary defines a Christian as someone who professes belief in Jesus as Christ or who follows the religion based on his life and teachings."

    The Witnesses do both.

However, one of the major differences (more of an addition) is that the Witnesses worship the same God that Jesus Christ himself worshiped: Jehovah God (Psa 83:18)

"Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God"--Jesus speaking at Revelation 3:12

Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians. The TRUE Christians. We adhere to the Bible and follow the example of Jesus Christ in our life and ministry. 1 Peter 2:21, 1 Corinthians 1:10; John 13:34,35

Jw believe if you work hard enough you might make it but you can't know for sure. A Christian believes Jesus has done enough to make them right before God and serve because of God's love.

More differences but that is main.

JW + Work = Maybe = God not happy with man

Jesus + 0 = God and man happy
