Upgrade options for my computer, specifically gfx card, psu and memory.?
I built my first computer just over a year ago and the xfx 8800gs was the only immediate option available. However, I want to be able to play games such as Crysis and Borderlands on better than average settings. I need help deciding what I should upgrade to.
My computer specs are
Processor: E8400
Motherboard: EVGA 780i
Memory: 2gb (looking to upgrade to 4gb)
PSU: Corsair HX620 -- SLI ready
OS: Windows XP, SP3
MicroCenter has a BFG 250 on sale for $120 that I was considering but I'm not sure if its better to get two 250's and SLI them or get a single 260 or maybe a 280+ and wait for a drop in price in order to get a second? Also, can my PSU handle 2 280's or do I need to upgrade that too?

Generally speaking it is said to be better to use one high level card instead of
two lessor cards...I would think that two 4850's would perform better than one
4870 so when it's cards that are that close the general rule would not apply
but one 280 would out do two 4670's for example...or two 8800gs's.
You might consider up-grading your mobo befor getting the second 280...
to one that has full x16 on both cards...the least expensive one that I know of
in that category is this one...

Check this list for a PSU...about 750W(up) for two cards(280's)

The thing with the board that allows full x16 on both cards I guess depends
mostly availability of funds at the time...but two 280's is getting close to
being a heavy load for your CPU anyway so you may like to read the

Sorry about that board suggestion being AMD as I'm not Intel familiar
but it was an example...
