Do you have a weightloss story? Please tell me what worked for you!?

I am thinking of buying an elliptical or tread mill, and lifting weights, Its hard for me to know what one really works best? what one helps you get a better body and healthy calorie burn? I get burnt out easy on working out and need to stay modivated... i get burnt out after 3 months on everything, I don't want to go to a gym, (not good around people). Please advise?

    I lost 55 pounds by bicycling 4-5miles a day. I used the Abs PowerFoods diet to educate myself about nutrition. I read Men's Health magazine and Muscle and Fitness magazine to stay current. Learn the glycemic index and how insulin affects your body. Lastly, it's not a diet. If you lose weight, and then go back to your old habits, you're going to end up right where you are now. It needs to be a permanent lifestyle change.
