LITY, do you really think that the male refs won't be as impartial as the female ref in 2002?

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_hockey_at_the_200...

"In the final, Canada outplayed USA despite being called for 13 penalties by the American referee (the Americans received four penalties). As a result, the game is considered somewhat controversial to many Canadian fans."

I mean, come on! I'm SUUURE that they are capable of being THAT impartial....

muahahahahahaha!!!!

I don't think it's an issue in the men's game.

McCreary and O'Halloran aren't getting any medals, and while McCreary only has 2 more months left on the job, these refs start seeing these same players again on Tuesday night and O'Halloran still has a few years left. O'Halloran is actually 'based' in the States and now makes his home there. Although, now that I think of it...O'Halloran is from Windsor AND he officiated the 2008 Stanley Cup final.....I wonder......

No, these guys are impartial. Only Kerry Fraser gets more respect points among NHL players than McCreary (even if the fans think Kerry Fraser is the worst ref on the planet - the players love him).

As for the 2002 women's final.........................the 13 to 4 was a bit much.....but Canada was FAR more aggressive than the US in that game, and there was far more stuff that Canada did that was missed that could have been called. I watched that game with several other NHL players, and there was a lot of 'she's lucky that wasn't called' that evening on Canada.

Odds of that happening are lower because women tend to get catty....

Well I have no idea, to be honest.
