Is this poem any good?

I don't need it to be great, just not stupid enough that I should be embarrassed of reading it in theater class.

Thanks.

Life, it’s like a firecracker,

A flash of light,

A bang,

The end;

It’s like the sea,

Tides of emotions,

Pulled by an unseen force,

Filled by others,

Yet cold and alone;

It’s a dot in time;

A breath of air;

It’s love,

Hate,

Caring,

Jealousy;

It’s chaos,

With order;

An escape,

A prison;

It’s you,

It’s me,

It’s us.

    This is terrific. The use of symbolism is so powerful, it's like the words are jumping off the page. It's so simplistic, yet so complex simultaneously. Just the metaphors and symbols bring it to another level. It is not embarrassing at all, and you actually have the potential to be a Shakespeare.

    this will not make you feel embarrassed at all, in fact they might praise you more than you expect. I really like this poem because it is so true, and you put life into context. I Particularly love the end :) Your theater class should like this and if they do not, they obviously do not appreciate poetry. Nice job!!!

    I like it.

    I am very much a believer in free expression -- everyone has stories to tell, and poetry to share, but not everyone tries it.

    Keep writing.
