When they get tired of Obama, they go to Gore. When they get called out on Gore, the go to Carter. When they are really desperate, the pull Clinton out of their azz.

Are you supposed to be always skeptical to the family member who told you that you're related to so-and-so, who was famous for such-and-such... or do you automatically think, "Oh my gosh that is so COOL!" and tell other people, without seeing the actual connection on a family tree?
