Is shutter island a remake or based off another movie?
When they 1st started advertising commercials for shutter island on t.v., I could swear that I have seen the movie before. I don't know how its possible or when. But when me and my g/f was watching tha movie for the 1st time, I was able to tell her what the movie was about and how it was gonna end. I ain't no physic or n e thing, so the only possible explanation is that this movie is a remake or based off of an older movie. Is it?

No it's based on a book that came out in 2003. The book was a mixture of the bronte sister mixed with 1956 invasion of the body snatchers.

Shutter Island is based on the book of the same name by Dennis Lehane. It's not a remake.

The same here! When i was watchins the commercials i could swear that i saw that movie, and when i told my friend endind she was shoked(she already saw the movie), but i did not see the shutter Island, i just remember some parts, but i can not remember what was the name of that movie that i watched a long time ago! Somebody Please help me i really want to remember The name of that movie if somebody else remembers it or else i will not be able to sleep.

Shutter Island is the first Hollywood make of the book, of the same title, by Dennis Lehane. I saw it today. It was so good.

When I started to watch this film I instantly knew what it was about. The reason being? I believe this film is based on the 1980 film The Ninth Configuration. The main actor in it was Stacey Keech Jr., who plays Colonel Vincent Kane, a former member of the United States Marine Corps.

IT'S CALLED MADHOUSE 2005. THAT'S THE FILM THAT IS JUST LIKE SHUTTER ISLAND. THANK GOODNESS I FOUND IT ONLINE. I WAS GOING CRAZY NOT KNOWING THE NAME OF IT!
