Sky Plus with no subscription?

I currently have a standard sky box with a dish but no Sky subscription so use it to watch Freesat channels. If I buy a Sky Plus box will I be able to use the recording feature without having a subscription to Sky. I'm getting conflicting advise so would love to hear if anyone out there is currently using a Sky Plus box without subscription/card and is able to use it to record programs on the hard drive.

thanks

No. The recording features require you subscribe to Sky. Instead, you should look into a Freesat Plus box if you want recording without subscription.

you will require a Sky+ container as a mode to checklist. you will no longer have the potential to view recordings on yet yet another container because of the fact the recorded information are stored on one container. -- Virgin Media's TiVO provider facilitates you to checklist on one TiVO container and look on the recordings on yet yet another TiVO container. Sky on the instant does no longer enable this characteristic, in spite of the reality that this is Sky+ HD person-friendly boxes are able to doing so.
