In Gold Medal Game, how come only 3 out 4 officials were from Canada?
Referees: Bill McCreary, Canada
Dan O'Halloran, Canada
Linesmen: Stefan Fonselius, Finland
Jean Morin, Canada
Should not the IOC to ensure a popular Canadian victory have made sure all 4 officials were from Canada?

The NHLPA controls the assigning of officials to all Olympic Hockey games where a majority of players are members. Since Canadians make up the majority of members and contribute the most money, it only makes sense that the officials are Canadians.
What I think is that a clerical person made an error in similar first names and put down Stefan Fonselius name down as working the final instead of Stephan Auger and thats how he got in.

All 12 teams were informed before the tournament started that both referees in the Gold Medal game would be NHL referees (50% of the officials used since 1998 have been NHL officials). Each team before the tournament was asked to pick from the pool of nHL refs who they wanted to see. Canada, USA, Russia, and Finland all requested Bill McCreary

In the NHL, referees throughout the playoffs are chosen based on their performance. I assume the same reasoning applies in other tournaments as well. I'm so glad I get two points for answering this question. Wheee! I'm gunna take these two points (and $1.50) and buy a drink at the drink machine.

in case you undergo in ideas those regulations you will by no ability might desire to ask returned. a million. whilst the numerator (the quantity on the authentic) of various fractions is the comparable, the better is the fraction with the smallest denominator (the quantity on the backside) Examples: 2/5 2/8 & 2/3 the better is two/3. 2. any different way around is yet another rule: If various fractions have the comparable denominator, the better is the single with the bigger numerator. Ex: 6/8 3/8 9/8 The better is 9/8 wish I helped you.

Why are so many American's looking for loopholes? (Although I know there are many out there who are not)
If it makes you feel better, yes Canada cheated. It's all an ingenious conspiracy against the U.S....to win a sport.
It's too bad a brilliant mind such as yourself wasn't there to stop the plot as it unfolded.
