Question about running a marathon?

I'm a 16 going on 17 year old and I'm thinking about running a marathon. I can already run over 13 miles at a 7' 52" per mile pace, but i've been told that running longer distances could result in different injuries. Could someone who knows about this verify if its safe for me to continue running longer distances?

It's safe. You just need to continue working and practice and slowly increase your distance. Go to the library and get a few books about marathon running. There are 16 week training schedules that build you up, no problem.

    Good luck and have fuN!

You should be fine man... Just plan on running 3-8 miles during the week and make sure to get in a long run just once a week 8+miles and then as u train on the mileage will increase. Take it easy and have fun in the process. Also dont always feel stressed to run every day... its ok to miss 1 day... plus your legs will love the rest and youll feel better. A good way to look at it also is too make sure u run more days during the week than days u dont run. For example my XC and Track practices were normal runs Mon-Friday and Long day saturday and then i never run on sundays... haha it should be a crime to run on sundays. Also make sure you run at most on your long runs 23 miles... never over. Good luck in your journey man! I hope for the Best! Oh and you will most likely not get injured if you have fun, rest, and run smart.

Ok i think running is safe but lots of things could happen from running for example your toenails could fall off and many other things could happen but if you were told you could trip when you walk would you stop walking? But there are things you can do to Protect yourself.

    1. Eat a banana before you run

    2. wear thick socks

    3. Make sure you can run that far you cant just go out and run a marathon.

i no i sound like a big talker with my advise when i haven't ran one but it is one of my goals and im hoping to reach it *good luck*

I could if I would get myself in well sufficient bodily form to take action. Did bicycle seventy seven.three miles (practically one hundred twenty five km) as soon as at a motorcycle race nonetheless, and that's practically three complete marathons. Seems simpler on wheels although!

Its safe for you to run a Marathon but its going to be really painful. Just do as much easy running as you can COMFORTABLY.

yeah, but you need to hydrate a lot and don't overuse when practicing.
