I was in a race to see who could get a cup of water down to the fence and back I got back first with the most water and I proudly displayed it to my teammates, then, before it could be measured, Amigo (the horse I as riding at the time) shook himself with as much enthusiasm as he could muster. I'm pretty sure he even lifted the saddle off of his back when he shook. All of the water in my cup got dumped out. I was not pleased with him that day :).

I was riding an unfamiliar horse....bareback (a long time ago when I just started out) and he decided to bolt. It was pretty hilarious. I didn't know how to stop him, so I ended up clinging to his neck and screaming girlishly "Naaaaaaathaaaaaaaaanieeeeeeeeel!" (the owner of the horse and my big sister's friend) He didn't help me because he was practically rolling on the ground laughing. My big sister still won't let me forget that.

I got on this nasty little pony named Keebler (this was before I knew her true nature as a a cave troll) and she promptly spun around and tossed me in the dust, then later, when I picked her hooves, she stamped on my toes (my pinky is still crooked). She didn't live on the ranch for long after that incident.

I rode a POA over the summer and she had the cutest little diva attitude. She was a rotten ride but I loved her all the more because I just couldn't take her attempts at brattiness seriously (and her spots were just so dang cute!) I worked with her and worked with her and got her to give a smooth trot and she was doing so well, she forgot to be a brat. One of the wranglers saw how well she was doing and wanted to get on her. The second after she mounted up, Freckles proceeded to sidstep the entire length of the arena. It looked like it was choreographed! It was as if she just remembered that she wasn't being bratty enough. lol

My worst moment in my horse riding career. I mounted Hariga (nutty Arab) and felt a subtle **riiiip** My jeans had ripped...in the worst spot for jeans to rip. And it was huuuge. I dismounted quickly and shuffled over to my dad, who gave me his big flannel shirt that hung down underneath the rip. :P note to self: inspect pants before riding.

My most recent blunder: giving Omar a hair cut. Please no mean comments, it is going to grow out and be ok (he's an old kidhorse, we aren't showing him). Omar's mane is ratty every day I go out to the barn. I have to get the mats undone best I can (but he still lost a lot of hair) and smother him with detangler (apple scented kids detangler), then I had to pull it and get it just right. So the other day I decided that I didn't have time to deal with his whacky hair everyday (he is just one of the forty horses at the youth ranch) so I broke out the scissors...and started snipping away. But don't worry, I only trimmed about three inches off. It looks slightly choppy now (but a whole lot more full and healthy). I felt alittle sorry about it later when people asked me about it, but guess what? It doen't tangle any more!!!!!!! And it's starting to grow on me, it's kind of cute! :D

    1. Most difficult horse you’ve ridden and why? My mare Sammy. She's very spooky and is prone to bolt!:P 2. Describe you and your horse’s connection. English, i've never ridden in western but would love to sometime. 4. Least favourite breed, why? I don't have a least fav breed actually. 5. Biggest horse pet peeve. bareback pads. Totally takes away the point of 'bareback' I just don't see how it can be called riding bareback if there's a pad with a girth etc. 6. Describe your ideal horse. Tbh, my horse Sammy is my ideal horse. I have a bond with her and she loves me. what more can I ask for? :) 7. Have you ever been scared to get on a horse? If so, why? Hmm, mine would probably be tack failure. I was riding my little arab bareback and I had invited my friend over to ride him as well. He was, well, still is quite green, so, since i was the more experienced rider and he was my horse i resolved to ride him first. He was doing excellent, so i kissed him to a lope, which was fine. Then my headstall broke, the screw holding the bit. The bit flung out of his mouth and hit him in the head, and like any sensible horse, he panicked. I am far more comfortable in a saddle and i had only learned bareback about two months ago, so I was immediately off balance. I yelled whoa and tried pulling back on the reins, but I only succeeded in swinging the bit around. I was soon bucked off and found a large rock with my hip. How is this funny you ask? The entire time my friend was laughing her @$$ off and didn't even ask if I was okay for about a minute, so it must have been humorous. At least she went and caught my horse. I am not sure what is worse though, that she is still one of my best friends or that i still use the same headstall with the same screws.

My Best friend had a horse that was, well really kind of mean...He was known throughout the region for being a horse that could get any rider off if he really wanted to...

So my Best friend was nervous about riding him and convinced me to show him for her. So we had gone through the whole day without a hitch...multiple classes, showing, jumping, and he was bringing in the ribbons in every class! We were all so proud of him!

So the last class of the day, was the largest jumping class and my friend's horse's previous owner came to watch as well. We were all very proud when we won the class...So in the lap of honor, we are leading and everyone at the show is watching because it is the last class of the show. Because my friend's horse had been such a good boy the whole day and had not even bucked once, I lent forward to give him a pat... I thought that he was fine with it (I didn't feel him swish his tail) and so I lent forward while we were cantering and gave him a hug...next thing I know, I am sitting in the mud (He managed to find the only muddy spot in the ring) next to him and he is just looking at me...silly boy had bucked me off and it really seemed like he was laughing at me!!

It was very embarrassing at the time, but looking back on it, I can't help but laugh!!

Oh, and apparently the horse's previous owner had said "I can't believe he hasn't bucked at all today!" right before he did...lol

Well once I was sidewalking in a therapuetic lesson, with two horses in the arena. I was with a fairly new pony Tater, and the other horse walking begun us was Charlie. Everything was going along great until there was a loud noice that spooked Tater a bit. The instructor behind us quickly said Charlie had snorted in a weird way, and we started laughing. It wasn't until later that we found it it was the sidewalker for Charlie and she farted! It was her first time and I never saw her again. I feel bad for her! Sorry it's not that funny...but that's all I got!

Last week I was on a trail ride with my friend when I decided to go swimming in the lake. It was 80 degrees, I was hot, my horse was hot, and I was bareback so I didn't see why not.

Well, I took her in, swam her in a little circle, and took her right back out... I just wanted to cool off. When I got out, my friend said "oh my god... you forgot you had a white shirt on!" To make matters worse, I was wearing a black lace bra. You could see EVERYTHING.

It was a Saturday and there were a lot of people at the lake - including a group of boy scouts. We hightailed it out of there... which was pretty fun... (ever gallop bareback while you and your horse are dripping wet and your boots are full of water?)

My pony bucked me off in an equitation bareback class at a show. Somehow, I landed on my flat on my feet, they hurt so bad! Apparently the judges were impressed because I didn't get last place--I got second! The other contenders weren't very happy however!

My friend and I were jumping double bareback and we were doing amazing and everyone in the lesson was watching us then out of no where he just stops from the canter and we just slide off. Then he stood there looked at us, then the jump, then at us again, then he just trotted back to the gate like nothing happened. He was like "okay you showed off now I'm done." It was so cute It really showed his personality.

This was when we were 8 and 9 so we were so proud of yourselves even though we did fall off lol.

I'd have to say the time when...... I know when I was at my aunt's horse spending time with the new baby foal. He ran up to me, yanked on my shirt, and then ran away. When I didn't chase after him he just looked at me. It was the funniest thing ever!
