will a gm 3800 series II motor fit into my 1999 pontiac grand am se?
i have a 1999 Pontiac grand am SE, with a 3.4L V-6 and im wondering if i decided to do an engine swap if i would be able to somehow slip in a 3800 series II (hopefully supercharged) and not have to do too much work besides the obvious like motor mounts and such that would need to be moved

Answer is if you have the MONEY and time Yes
But is it worth it ? NO
Best not to have to Change the Subframe it will have to be welded in.
If you can find a Ram Air 3400 HO (3.4L) out of a Grand Am GT and computer add Air intake cam change and exhaust. This would be the easiest swap.
But the Best thing is SELL the Grand Am and BUY a GTP !!!!!!!!!!
Or buy a Fiero and stuff a V8 in it for the same money ?.

There is no such thing as a "HO" engine from the GT. It is the same engine with the ram air stuff and dual exhaust giving it a few more HP at high speeds.

The 92' motor is going to be a different series(1,2,or 3). i think it is a 3800series2 motor but not positive. it would fit but it might need the ecu and harness from the 92 car also to be able to run properly.

It's not a direct bolt in. It'll take some work...no offense but it's a Grand Am, just drive it.

if it does you may also have to change the main computer as well for it to run right.
