What color socks should be worn with jeans?
So, I work at a high end men's clothing retailer. For a long time, we've simply carried men's formal, business, and business casual wear (i.e. tuxedos, suits, sport coats, dress pants, etc.). Recently we've started to carry more casual clothes, including blue jeans. With suits and dress pants, we recommend that gentlemen match their socks to their trouser color--navy suit, navy socks, and so on. But customers who purchase jeans have been asking what color socks to wear with them.
I generally wear dark gray socks with my jeans, so that's what I pass along to them. Have I been involved in a conspiracy to committ a fashion faux pas?

Well generally blue or navy socks go well with Jeans, however the colour Shirt or top your wearing helps you deicde. Becuase if the Jeans go with shirt it will with your socks. An example of this is a man is where a white shirt with Jeans, naturally white socks will go well with the Jeans rather than Navy. Another example is someone wearing a pink shirt, however pink would stand out as socks, a dark purple or pink would go well instead of navy. So the colour of shirt and scoks should resemble the same colours, but can be need to be darker/toned down so the dont stand out.
