how to get a job at a small business?

I am trying to get a job at a small business (a body shop in this situation). They don't hire much because they have few employees or are family owned and I am sure they have applications on file. How do I apply for the job and how do I make sure I get it?

make sure that you will be noticed , be different , have clear answers , know what you are talking about , look good and fresh and make them a offer they can not refuse .

in other words , have a clear application , learn about the shop and the owners , maybe send them a cream you made yourself in a very nice box , or a cake

dress so that you will fit in the shop , i mean do not look like a schoolgirl if the shop is for older people etc etc . tell them that you are willing to work also part time , difficult hours , weekends and that you would happy if you could start with even a few hours a month

if they are not hiring, they are not hiring don;t keep bothering them if they have already told you they have no openings - you you even have training or experience for that kind of work?

if all you want to be is an office worker, then a tiny business like that probably only needs one employee and probably offers no health insurance benefits, or paid vacation and no long term job security

How do you know they have applications on file? They might and they might not. And they might be less inclined to act on them when you show up.

Make sure you have a short and positive answer to the question, why should we hire you instead of someone else? and let everybody and their dogs know about it. Persistence pays.

    Good luck!
