Accountant needed to answer career q's for class!?

I have 14 questions to ask an accountant for my Employment Search Skills class. Please help!

1. How long have you worked in this position?

2. How did you get the job that you are currently working?

4. Are there specific job requirements? If so list.

5. What changes in the workplace environment have you seen since you began working?

6. How have you handled these changes?

7. What skills do you need to be effective at your job?

8. How do you stay current in your field?

9. What are the advantages of your current position?

10. What are the disadvantages of your current position?

11. What changes has your organization faced in the last three to five years?

12. What changes does your organization anticipate within the next year?

13. Do you consider the work environment stressful? If so, how?

14. What advice would you give a student preparing for the same career?

    3. researching accounting rules, writing documentation, preparing and checking reports and spreadsheets, reviewing financial statements and filings

    4. Knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting, strong analytical skills, Bacherlor's degree in Accounting

    5. More documentation and controls, also more being asked of from the accoutants (helping solve problems in other areas of the company)

    6. Prioritize tasks

    7. Good written communication skills, good analytical skills, ability to interpret accounting literature

    8. Subscribe to daily emails about accounting changes

    9. Feeling of satisfaction from contributing to the team

    10. Sometimes long hours, requests for information without advance notice

    11. Volatility in the markets

    12. Unknown

    13. Stressful during quarterly and annual closings

    14. Be thorough in your work! Don't say anything is true unless you know for sure. Learn how to communicate well with all different types of people, you don't want to create enemies. You are an accountant - make sure you understand the work you are doing; just don't fill out a spreadsheet without actually understanding what is going on!
