Should a resume have color?

I was going to update my resume and was looking around for tips. I found a site that sells background templates with colors and some with pictures. They are really nice but I was wondering if it was appropriate for a resume.

what do you think?

no, bad idea. color and pictures make it look unprofessional.

    heres a better idea:

go to a copy store and see if they have any different kinds of paper that you could print it on. instead of having just plain white, maybe pick one with a linen texture, or a creme/offwhite/greyish color. nothing crazy like hot pink. just something very subtle that will make your paper resume stand out from the others.

I truly don't think that having color in your resume is a good idea. YOu really need to have your resume look professional and you must include a cover letter that allows the reader to get a glimpse of who you are, what your qualifications are, and why you would be the perfect candidate. Ithnk adding color only detracts from the professionalism.

Here is a good site on how to write an amazing resume. In these times it is REALLY important to have an amazing resume. So much competition out there!!

    Good Luck,

The strains will create havoc on the scanner. comprehend that we often reproduction a resume and can deliver it exterior of the construction to a distinctive internet site. The strains and hues will purely harm. From a business enterprise viewpoint, it does not something to characteristic to your potential to get observed. What makes your resume stand out is that in case you have the abilities we choose.

no totally inappropriate. employers want to know what you have to offer, not what colors you like. stick with black and white.
