Yes, they can have cancer. There are many types of stem cells in an adult body, they are partially differentiated so they don't have the potential of embryonic stem cells, but they're still stem cells, and it's believed that they are behind most actual cancers.
Cancer of an undifferentiated stem cell is called a teratoma, this kind of cancer can produce any type of tissue and often leads to the formation of balls of skin in the body, or other chunks of organs. The typical teratoma had the three main parts: digestive, muscular and skin, as if it had attempted to form an embryo.
So they couldn't be exploited that way, as they'd be a regular cancer and would behave accordingly.
