My sons legs keep falling asleep?

My 4 year old son wakes up all the time in the middle of the night crying in pain because one of his legs fall asleep. It's been happening for a while now. I'm gonna take him to the doctor about it tomorrow I was just wanting to know if anyone else had this problem and if they knew what it is. thank you.

Could be growing pains, the way he is sleeping (do you notice if he sleeps in a peculiar position?), but also it can be related to low blood circulation. This can be due to various things but it may be because he isn't getting enough physical activity (it is the winter and all!). Obviously you'll see what the doctor says, but I'd ask about the circulation in particular.

    Its all about blood flow.

Usually when legs or limbs fall asleep its because u have fallen asleep with it bent or tucked in. Preventing blood flow from going to the outer limbs.

He may be falling asleep in positions where his legs bend at the knee.

Next time he is asleep, quietly walk in a pull down the blanket. Check the position of his legs. see if they are in a bent or tucked in position. If it is bent or tucked in then u know that is the problem (blood flow). If they are straight, u may need to see a doctor about it to enquire further.

It may be growing pains at night. I remember how badly mine hurt when I was younger. The one thing that really helped me was laying cool towels on my legs and knees and rubbing them. If they are actually falling asleep make sure his legs arent bent or tucked once he has fallen to sleep. Bring him to the doctors is a good idea just to make sure it isnt a pinched nerve or anything.

It could be growing pains. My son went through those. It hurt him so bad, the only way I could make it go away was by rubbing his legs.
