Spending the night with him?

Question

I often spend up to 14 hours at a time with my boyfriend, at his house. My parents have no problem with this. But if I ever wanted to spend the night, they wouldn't allow it. If they're worried about me having sex, chances are, we're doing that stuff during the 14 hours we're already together. I'm almost 19, but they say, "their house, their rules." Any advice on how to shift their stance on this?

I'm sorry to be the party ruiner but your parents are worried about you having sex with your boyfriend for a reason. However, you are nineteen, finished school and can make your own decisions, so I'd talk to them about this and explain what you feel. The best way to develop a good relationship is to be honest and straight forward. Don't hide things from your parents, they are there to guide you a long the way. Remember, parents will always be there for you but boyfriends come and go, so make your parents a big part of your importance, because they are indeed a big part of your life.

Went through the same thing growing up. They're not worried that you're having sex, they were your age once and know exactly how easy it is to fool around during the day too. 

It's simple though, they don't want you to spend the night with a guy because you're still they're kid, and you're just going to have to respect that. 

You'll feel the same way one day.
