The Viking's were in North America long before Columbus. This before the time of Eric the Red.

there is a possibility. there is also evidence that Templar Knights fleeing prosecution landed in America with the vikings. a stone was discovered in America, covered in the language of the Templars, and from the way they found it, they knew it was there long before Columbus

    interesting.

Even if Muslims did discover the Americas before Columbus, they don't seem to have settled majorly, nor spread their religion widely.
