Well. I don't know why you would suggest that atheists aren't poor. It seems like there'd be no way of proving such evidence, except the fact the poorer countries are usually far more into religion than the richer ones.

Seems like the reason would be is that people who are poor are needy. They need religion to give them piece of mind, and they need an answer to the question of what happens when we die. Basically life is usually hard for the poor so they need to know that if they persevere there's a light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of atheists are atheists because they see this, and view the need for religion as a crutch. Their too good for religion either cause they believe they have all the answers or can't handle the fact that they can't figure everything out. If you can't figure out a problem, it's quite easy to just say the problem never existed in the first place, and ignorantly push it aside.

Another reason it seems like you only see "well off" people as atheists is simply because they are "well off". They don't need anything else in their lives. They have the so called life. Money can satisfy for a long time. Why would you need to pray to a God, when you control your world. You need something you buy it. You run into any problems, you don't pray to God, you call a lawyer.

So why would you humble yourself and say sure you don't know what happens when you die. It's simply much easier to enjoy life with asking those hard questions, you know you won't be able to answer.

Most atheists are rich, privileged, young, and white. They have it all. Why are they so angry and depressed?

Because some atheists ARE poor, perhaps?
