Are Kings fans mentally challenged?

I'm currently watching the MTL/LA game, and I can't help but notice that the Kings fans seem to be doing a lot of cheering, but not in all the right places. They go crazy for fights and really weak break-aways, but when there's a really decent shot on goal or a penalty called in their favour, it doesn't seem to clue in until long after the play is over.

So the real question is: Who are the stupidest fans in the NHL? Despite the fact that the Leafs are horrible, they have some pretty dedicated and well educated followers. Which team do you think has the most scrublicious attendees?

Update:

@ cdn24:

My bad, I meant odd man rushes. There were a couple times when the Kings brought the puck into the Habs' zone and the crowd started cheering like it was an awesome break-away, while the defensemen still obviously had them in check.

@ Mr. Establishment:

Wow, I've been called a lot of things in my life, but never a Leafs fan. Please watch your language. I'm a Habs fan until death.

Lakers fans are notorious for doing everything except follow the game at the Staples Center. In other words, they're not really into the game. Many of them are just rich dudes who just want to be at the "big show." This could be the same reason why Kings fans don't appear to be very knowledgeable about hockey.

Weak breakaways?? I understand partial breakaways but weak? Anyways I think MOntreal has the most dedicated fans. Only place that sells out every game. About uneducated fans I think the state of Florida has some pretty doozies. But again half the fan base is usually cheering for the opponent, especially when Montreal hits the town. But to be sinister with fans is not cool. Many are just tuning into the game of hockey especially in the sunny part of the States.

You need to keep in mind that there would have been a LOT of Habs fans in that crowd, and although the Kings were the home team, there would have been a strong Habs following therefore cheers etc. coming at non-appropriate times for the 'home team'

I don't think L.A.'s really a hockey city, and I doubt most of the attendees even know the names of their players. Like one of the other users said they're probably just there to be a part of the party =/

As for the stupidest fans... I don't interact much with the NHL fanbases outside of western Canada and I don't consider us uneducated when it comes to hockey seeing as we spend ten months of the year following it religiously. As for game attendees, Edmonton has the most classiest fans in the League in my opinion.

Possibly, but could you tell me what a "weak break-away" is?

I will grant you that they appeared to be booing the Kings while they were shorthanded and doing a decent job on the PK IMO.

Lol, all extreme college ladies? i'm in extreme college and each guy or woman in my college hates that up himself, obsessive little toddler. He appears like a poultry that has in basic terms had its balls cut back off. final i checked his in basic terms followers have been 9 twelve months olds. yet you're precise, there could be some infantile young toddlers in extreme college that has been marked "virgin for existence" that are followers of him.

I haven't been to any other team's home besides New Jersey. I have to admit occasionally we get some stupid fans also.

Come on, it's LA, half of that crowd is celebrities, either checking their blackberries or cuddling with their hollywood beaus.

Stupidity knows no boundaries especially when you generalize any teams fans.

Most Toronto fans(like yourself) are among the most intolerant of the game of hockey growing in other places out of Canada.
