How do you pronounce?

I have heard basically two pronunciations of each: Coyote and Rodeo.

I think it has to do with where you live and age.

How do you pronounce the two? Where do you live? How old are you?

    I live in South Texas where we have an abundance of both coyotes and rodeos.

    Coyote = kie YO tee

    A coyote is either a dog-like four-legged wild animal or a person who smuggles illegal aliens for money. Same pronunciation for both.

    Rodeo = ROH dee yo (common pronunciation), roh DAY yo (correct pronunciation of the Spanish word)

    A rodeo is a gathering of cowboy and cowgirl types for contests involving ranching skills. Traditional rodeos include horse riding, bull riding and other activities associated with cattle or horse ranching. Small rodeos are common at small town festivals but Texas has a number of larger nationally-recognized rodeos involving professional rodeo cowboys and cowgirls. Several other cities and towns in the Western U.S. and Canada also host rodeos. Many performers are Canadian. U.S. rodeo cowboys come mainly from Texas, Wyoming and Colorado, but other states are represented as well.

    I'm 68 years old.

    Source(s): Been to a few of them, both small and large.
