Is repealment a word?

It showed up on dictionary.com, but my word spell checker says its not a word. If its not what should I say in place? Like im trying to say "the official repealment of the bill." Thanks in advance.

Under "Repealment" my dictionary shows the word "Repeal" and "n. (-ment)".

That makes it a word as far as I am concerned.

"Repealment: is not a word. Your sentence could read "The official repeal (abolishment, nullification) of the bill".

    Source(s): Random House Unabridged Dictionary
  • Just use 'repeal".

According to www.thefreedictionary.com the definition of repealment is "Recall, as from banishment". It has nothing to do with repealing a law.
