Short term parking charges you a lot for an hour or two - as in parking to pick up an arriving passenger.
Long term parking charges you a lower hourly rate, or caps the maximum rate, so that a day would be less than the same amount of time in a short term lot.
At Norfolk airport, these are the rates:
Short-term Parking $1.00 per each half hour, or any part thereof, up to a maximum of $24.00 per day.
Long-term Parking $1.00 per each half hour, or any part thereof, up to a maximum of $7.00 per day.
See more information about the airport at: http://www.norfolkairport.com/parking/parking.htm
Their parking seems to be very convenient to the terminal
Around many airports, there are often off-airport parking facilities run by non-airport parking companies who drive you on shuttles to and from the airport. The cost is less, but you do have the very minor inconvenience of waiting for a shuttle rather than just walking into the passenger terminal. I do not know if such places exist near Norfolk, but you will no doubt see signs as you approach the airport.

Long term Car parking in airports are for people who want to leave their cars near the airport and go on holiday somewhere .So when they come back they can go to the car park and get their car quikly. I think so maybe i am wrong about this : you have to pay a fee then you leave your car for the amount of days you paid for
