Can a lamb with 2 broken legs recover?
One of my ewes stepped on her lamb and broke it's front leg. We set and splint it - she seemed to be doing ok so we put the lamb back in with the mother. The next day the lamb had another broken leg! This time a hind leg. So now the lamb is in a pen next to the ewe, I milk out the ewe and bottle feed the lamb. She is gaining weight and seems to be surviving, but can she really heal up with 2 broken legs? Or am I setting myself up for a heartbreak when I loose her because she is quickly becoming a pet.

Try two pieces of a stick and a bandage to empeach the broken bones to mouve .
the main is that each side of broken place do be tighten sure not too strongly the blood must pass.
Its a joung animal with more chance to recover but you know especially for horses they have to mouve to digest.

The pup is over the Parvo - that should not be a problem. I would ask to talk directly to the vet treating the broken leg - the vet knows the prognosis best and any respectable rescue will gladly have you talk to the vet in a case like this. The vet probably can't tell you exactly the details of the accident, but he can tell you if there are any other warning signs of future problems. Unless it's a very small breed, dogs are amazingly durable. I had a Chihuahua when I got my first Siberians and Sibe pups play ROUGH. Yet Chico, the Chi, never got injured. However I did have a 4 month old Sibe pup's back broken playiing with her mother and several adult dogs - freak accident but they do happen. I might be a bit concerned over the 3 and 5.5 yr old with a pup with a broken leg, but you know your children better than anyone else.

If the splints are done properly and no infection or anything ensures, she should recover alright, although as Sameena said she may always have a limp. As long as she is still feeding and lively things look positive for her. However I kind of wonder how she broke two of her legs so easily... it's possible she could have unusually brittle bones or something that are prone to breaking easily. Or her Mum could just be clumsy :/

i imagine that if everything is splinted correctly and bandaged up your lamb can recover, such as a horse can or other animals. However it will probably walk with a limp
