CLL Leukemia survivors only please?

I am going in next week for my 6th session of 3 day rounds of FCR chemo. And hopefully my last.

How many rounds of chemo on average did any survivors need, and how long after the chemo did it take to be claimed you were in remission?

Also, what do I need to expect for continuing maintenance to combat my CLL?

Update:

CLL is an adults leukemia, that effects adults only.

There are other types of leukemia, just ike there are many other cancers.

i know you said survivors only but my best friend was a survivor, she got leukemia when she was 16 years old. I'm not sure how many rounds she did but she was in and out of the hospital a lot for a year. She had to stop dance which was her favorite thing. She then went into remission and it took 2 years of in and out doctors visits to finally declare her cancer free and so she doesnt have to go back to the doctors anytime soon. It's different for everyone you know. Stay strong, and find something to live for. All the little kids that had cancer that she met in the hospital kept her going. She couldn't give up, what would that be saying to them.?

I'm so proud of my friend and good luck to you too!

I'm pretty sure it goes from the day you were given your all clear by the oncolgist. I was in treatment for a year and 1 month and consider myself a 12+ yr survivor as of the last radiation treatment date not the diagnosis date.I think it should be from whenever you felt like you turned the corner. Good Luck!

If you were in Vietnam - did you know that this condition is associated with Agent Orange exposure? You can get compensation from the VA for CLL if you are a Vietnam vet.
