I thought toddlers were supposed to?

go through a phase of not wanting to eat much. Seems like half the day I am trying to keep my 2 year old boy fed. He has always been a healthy eater and is out-eating me on most days. Any one else with a toddler who has a seemingly insatiable hunger?

this made me lol because I know exactly what you mean! My younger step-brother never went through the not eating phase, or even the picky phase! He could eat like a teenager, almost the whole day everyday and my mom was afraid he had worms or diabetes, she took him to the doctor and they said he's fine, he was eating the right foods, just growing quickly, high metabolism, and some kids just have healthy appetites! Now I have a two-year old and when she began going through the not eating, picky phase, I worried until I realized that was normal too! She just eats when she's hungry. I would say that as long as your son doesn't have a medical reason as to why he is always hungry, he probably is just fine, just has a big appetite. He may still yet go through the phase of not eating, some kids don't start that till 3 or 4. In the meantime, good luck keeping your pantry stocked! : )

My son has always been a good eater too but I think that comes from establishing good eating habits early on. I have nieces and nephews that won't eat half of the food my 2 year old does and they are all at least three times his age. My son is very healthy though. Three feet tall and weighs 27 pounds. He would rather eat a salad with no dressing than a bowl of ice cream!! Just be thankful you have a good eater as long as he is healthy.

  • 2 years is a pretty good age for a growth spurt. Which could be why he is out-eating you so much right now. Is he sleeping more too?

Most toddlers do go through the phase where they decide they aren't going to eat. And then they go through phases where they can't stop eating. They go through so many phases we have no hope of keeping up. All we can do is go along for the ride lol

My son goes through phases. He used to eat well and then it was like overnight somebody flipped a switch and my awesome eater would not eat anything! He still goes through days like that. One day he will eat like a pig and then the next practically nothing! Enjoy your great eater. Most of us have to beg our kids to eat.

Yup just phases. Eating alot normally means he is or is about to have a growth spurt, that's what my son did/does. Then after he will go about a week of eating very little. So go ahead and feed the boy as much as he wants to eat just watch what you feed him so he don't become cramped or constipated.

hmmmmm. specific, tricking her to eat is nearly a mushy rigidity feeding. it is going to additionally postpone her skill to feed herself or reason her to overeat later. seems such as you're trying too annoying. loosen up! you think of that it is the only way she'll eat, yet it incredibly is a techniques from the fact. as quickly as your lady receives hungry adequate, she'll be soliciting for nutrition and could eat on her very own. At 18 months she relatively could be feeding herself. supply her a competent part of secure finger meals and permit her eat what she needs. you've gotten a multitude yet a happier youngster. on occasion she'll eat greater and on occasion she'll eat much less. My daughter is 3 years previous and on occasion will eat 2 bowls of cereal and not lots else. different days, she'll be ingesting 3 foodstuff an afternoon. on occasion she'll ask for ice cream for dinner, and that i'll tell her she will have some AFTER she eats her vegetables. as long as i do no longer supply in, the vegetables would be finally long previous. yet be confident you preserve your provides. in case you assert i'm going to offer you ice cream once you eat the vegetables, then you definitely greater perfect supply that ice cream after the vegetables are long previous. otherwise, your daughter won't have faith you once you promise different issues. relatively relies upon on her physique's advance. in simple terms be confident your daughter is getting adequate drinks.
