I am a mommy to two beautiful little boys who i love with all my heart and am with a man i am crazy about. He is the best father in the world to both our boys. I am truely lucky to have found him. Right now i am a stay at home mom but i am hoping to go back to school part time in the spring. I am hoping to become an ultrasound tech but am considering nursing as well. I want to provide the best life i can for my family so that is my motivation.

  • My one month old never?

seems satisfied after we feed him. He can drink 6 or 7 ounces and still wake up 30 minutes later wanting more. Is this normal? My first son never actually ate this much. Most he ever ate was about 6 ounces and that was when he was much much older. He has spit up only a handful of times since birth so i know im not overfeeding him. His appitite just seems to be getting harder and harder to satisfy as the weeks go by. The longest he will go without a bottle is 2 1/2 hours. Anybody elses little one eat so much so young?

  • My 3 week old seems constantly hungry?

He is eating 4-5oz every 2-3 hours and yes he is actually hungry. I check everything else first. His diaper gets changed every time he wakes up, he is rocked, cuddled, loved, cleaned, no fever just hungry! Roots for the bottle, sucks fingers, smacks lips ect. He does not spit up when i feed him at all. He has only spit up twice since we brought him home. I'm just concerend because he never seems satisfied and we have talked to doctors and they are not concerend. Hes eating 30 + oz a day easily. This just started 3 days ago by the way. What is going on? oh and his weight is 8lbs 8 oz. He was 6lb 2 oz at birth.

  • This is going to sound like a funny question?

But i want to calm my boyfriends concerns about our 3 week old without having to call and ask the doctor this ridiculously funny question i already know will get laughs? Our baby boy has horrible smelling gas and he is worried because as he puts it he and daddy could have a contest and baby would win hands down. He is formula fed by the way if that helps. Is it normal? lol

  • Is my little man eating too much?

My baby boy is almost 3 weeks old and during the day he eats 2-3 oz every 2-2 1/2 hours and at night he eats about every 4-5 hours but he wants 4 oz bottles. He eats about 26 oz a day on the average day i would say. Is this too much? He does not spit up but sure gets fussy if you try to make him wait on a bottle even for the time it takes to warm it up! His doctor said his weight gain is great so far. It just seems like he is always hungry!

  • Help with gas pains in newborn?

It all started yesterday with some fussiness and gas and now he is just screaming and gassy and in pain. We are trying the Dr. Browns bottles, Mylocon gas relief and even switching his formula to soy based ( I'm lactose intolerant as is his older brother). He was on similac sensitive since birth but it still has some cows milk in it so im keeping my fingers crossed this may be it. He's been such an excellent sleeper up till now sleeping 3 or 4 hours straight and now im lucky if he goes down 30 minutes. To top it all of im doing this all alone right now cuz his daddy and grandma are both sick and have been for about a week. I cry with him cuz i just feel so awful he's hurting. Is there anything else i can do for him?

  • Could my son be allergic to our cat?

So my son is 4 and has always had seasonal allergies which got better when we bought air purifiers for the apartment. Here these past few days he has been congested. No fever or crankiness or anything. Just congested and sneezing and i noticed it is significantly worse when he messes with our cat which we have had since before he was born. Is it possible that he is just showing signs of being allergic now?

  • How to deal with my family?

Okay so i am going in for a csection very soon and my family wants to be there waiting during this time with my 4 year old son. I really would prefer they wait to come up after i am in recovery because first off i would like to see my oldest see his baby brother for the first time and also i feel like it would just be 10 times as hard on me to see my 4 year old right before i go into surgery. It is already really scary and i would rather him not see me cry. My problem is my family is being very demanding about the whole thing. They act like i am letting everyone but them come up before but i am letting NOBODY but my husband be there before. My mom asked me last week what i would prefer and this is what i told her and now just days before surgery she gets me all stressed out by flipping out on me over my choice. I want to hold my new son for the first time, see him with his big brother, and spend some time with my hubby and our new baby alone before the whole family rushes in. This is really important to me and my mother just can't handle it. I don't know what to do. If they come i am going to feel so slighted and feel like i didn't get this one thing the way i wanted it. Also if i tell them yes than i have to tell my hubby's family yes and they are a HUGE family. He has 17 siblings and his parents plus step parents and on and on. I just remember with my first being so out of it i did not get to enjoy the family time anyway. How do i make her listen and how do i keep from feeling guilty for making a decision that was supposed to be mine? Any advice?

  • How to keep visitors to a minimum when?

my hubby has a huge family. We are having a little boy very soon and i am nervous with it being so close to cold and flu season about everyone coming around him. I know tell everyone to wash their hands first but you can be getting sick and not even know you are contagious. I don't want to offend anyone but i would really just like to keep it close family at first but im afraid everyone and their dog (not literally) is going to show up in my hospital room the day i have him! My hubby seems to think this is not a big deal but i am going to be recovering from a csection and the baby is already going to be delivered 2 weeks early due to some complications. Am i wrong to be so nervous?

  • Why is breastfeeding seen as the number one choice?

As opposed to pumping? Isn't the most important thing that the baby is getting the breast milk not how they are getting it? I understand the whole bonding thing but i bottle fed my first son and i bonded with him and him with me just fine. He is mommas boy.

  • Can't get comfortable at 33 weeks?

Okay so i haven't slept well in 3 days. I toss and turn all night and it doesn't matter how many pillows i use i cannot get comfortable. The only way i seem to be able to sleep is propped up on lots of pillows practically sitting up. I know it's better to lay on your side but i always end up on my back. Also if i am successful at staying on my side i wake up and my hip hurts and my arm is numb from finger tip to shoulder. I just need some sleep. I still have a little less than a week left at work. Also how bad is it if i do end up on my back at night? Not flat but propped up. Help!

  • Was i wrong to tell him?

To mention to my boyfriend that i was kind of nervous about him going out of state so close to my due date? He had a relative pass away and they are taking him home to be laid to rest. I get he needs to go but i just thought he should know that it makes me nervous to be alone. He doesn't know when hes going yet (it could be several more weeks) and he will be gone for about a week. I'm 33 weeks now. My doctor is watching our baby closely for growth and has said if he stops growing like my first son did he will take him early. I didn't tell him not to go because I know he feels he needs to and i understand. I just thought he'd be understanding of how i felt too but he got angry? Was i wrong?

  • Ive been having a lot of pain?

in the middle of my back the last few days. It usually starts around 6 hours into my work day ( I'm a cashier) and continues to get worse until I get off 2 hours later. By the time i get home I'm pretty much stuck on the couch on the heating pad just trying to lessen the pain. I have tried Tylenol, heating pad and warm baths and they all help but the relief if very temporary plus the only one that i can do while at work is Tylenol. I'm 32 weeks and still have 2 weeks left at work. Any advice on how to get through these last couple of weeks without coming home in tears?

  • So i had a ultrasound today?

and doctor said baby is measuring well for how many weeks I am but his tummy is measuring small compared to his head? I'm not sure I understand completely and when I ask they just say they are going to watch him. My first son had intrauterine growth restriction so I worry about this little guy too. Also when did y'all start going to appointments weekly? Its been so long since my first son I have completely forgotten how it works. Thanks
