Can't get comfortable at 33 weeks?
Okay so i haven't slept well in 3 days. I toss and turn all night and it doesn't matter how many pillows i use i cannot get comfortable. The only way i seem to be able to sleep is propped up on lots of pillows practically sitting up. I know it's better to lay on your side but i always end up on my back. Also if i am successful at staying on my side i wake up and my hip hurts and my arm is numb from finger tip to shoulder. I just need some sleep. I still have a little less than a week left at work. Also how bad is it if i do end up on my back at night? Not flat but propped up. Help!

Yea. I feel your pain. I know it gets pretty miserable towards the end of pregnancy. When i was pregnant i could never get comfortable. I would toss and turn all night long. and i too, would wake up on my back a lot. i would wake up cramping, my bodies way of telling me, to get off my back. Its not going to hurt you or the baby if you do lay on your back some times. your body will let you know. I asked my doctor this as well, because i was concerned about waking up sleeping on my back. and he said it was fine. just try to sleep on your sides as much as possible, and laying propped up with pillows isn't quite the same thing as laying flat on your back. you will know if you are hurting the baby or cutting off circulation. You will start cramping and having pains, until you roll over. your fine. don't stress. hang in there. It will all get better once the baby is born.
good luck.

It keeps getting worse until you deliver. I think the lack of sleep is a natural way of preparing you for the sleepless nights with a new baby. So it's not such a shock to your system! Sleeping on your side (if you arent naturally a side sleeper is not comfortable at all. Just do your best. If you wake up on your back, your body woke you up to tell you to switch positions again. So dont worry... Its all normal. Congrats on your new baby!

As long as your not flat on your back you should be fine. If you prop yourself up it should take the pressure off your arteries that they worry about. You could take unisome also. My doctor told me it was fine!
