Am I just seeing what I want to see, or does Mitt Romney have the 2012 primaries in the bag?

I mean, if he gets lucky, he can win Iowa. Unless someone runs to his left, he wins New Hampshire by default. He'll win Nevada because of Mormons. He'll probably lose South Carolina, but he'll have won at least 2/4 of these first primaries, so he won't lose too much momentum on it. He's polling over 50% in Florida, which will give him more momentum going into super Tuesday. Romney can even win certain southern states like Texas, win by double digits in some western states like Colorado, looks fine in the Midwest, and we all know the northeast is his.

Update:

I don't have issues with Romney Care. The Massachsetts Taxpayer Foundation says it's on budget. Even if you still don't back it, he's not proposing it for the United States. I like him because he's as strong as you can get on the economy.

Update 2:

Romney saved the Salt Lake Olympics. And this question isn't about whether or not people should support him, it's about whether or not he wins the 2012 primaries easily.

Willard Romney may be the only person who can give Obama a run for his money.

Let's hope that we can come up with someone besides an old-school establishment Repooplican. I haven't seen anyone I would care for so far. We need a strong constitutionalist with a common sense approach to foreign affairs, the economy, the military, and a good understanding of the people he is supposed to serve.

Not someone who builds an administration of complete nincompoops with no understanding of the departments they are supposed to administer. Not one who has ever owned or operated a business, and they are supposed to "save" the economy?

I haven't seen anyone even close to that from EITHER party - have you?

Anything the government does puts additional restrictions on businesses and the American public, and these people are looking at everything through a rose-tinted lens of socialism and bigger government instead of realizing that they ARE the problem.

I nominate ... ME! LOL! I don't have all the qualifications of a "community organizer," but I have a better understanding of what makes this country run and how to make it better for the citizens - not some career politician. Try this on:

    1. Government by the Constitution.

    2. A Constitutional amendment changing the time that Congress is in session from a full year to six months each year. I mean, they aren't there over six months a year now are they?

    3. No pay for Congressman and Senators. They would be allowed to submit expenses accounts for reimbursement for the following items while in office:

    a. Cost of living - Housing in D.C. while away from home state, for the elected official only, to include rent, utilities, communications (TV, radio, internet, etc.); Clothing allowances, Food, Reasonable entertainment.

    b. Staff - Pay and benefits for all staff members; Costs of renting office space (and all associated costs) in home districts and additional staffing required outside of D.C.

    c. No retirement other than contributions to Social Security (allowable as an expense while in office).

    d. Health Care insurance for official & family while in office. Cost of health care for staff members is also reimbursable with documentation of expenses.

    e. Immediate suspension of ALL foreign aid, except to those countries that support our policies and pose no threat to our security. If any others want our money ... what do they have to offer? Raw materials? Licenses for businesses that bring benefit to both the enterprise and the country? No more free lunches.

    f. Get OUT of the UN and get the UN out of the US! (I think Zimbabwe would be a good spot!)

That's enough for now ... thank you for your attention!

I'm sure the polling looks wonderful for Mitt Romney at the moment but he is just not conservative enough. Then again the odds on beating an incumbent president are not good and the hopefuls for 2016 may just bide their time and let Mitt have at it.

He will never pass the litmus test on abortion, he will never be trusted on that issue. See the link.

When you lay down with dogs, you wake up with flees. Mitt Romney was a failure with the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City; mismanaged his Governorship in MA; will not garnish the votes or support from the Christian Right; unless they sell their souls to the devil. Besides if Scott Brown plays his cards right; he'll out shine Romney even with 75% of his campaign coming from Romney's own pocket.

I didn't realize he was polling over 50% in Florida. I'll look at your link (against whom becomes a major issue.) He put Romneycare in. Why do you want him? I know he looks good in a photograph, but what is the attraction?

I was more for him than for McCain, but not by much, and at this point I know he would continue to take us in the wrong direction. He is a Keynesian.

(OK, that Iowa poll was just silly. The only POSSIBLE reason they'd have Gary Johnson on it would be to measure Ron Paul voter support -- so why didn't they put in Ron Paul? GJ is a good guy but does NOT fire people up like RPs record does.)

He'll probably be going against Sarah Palin, so he'll probably have some trouble having people support him.
