What do you think about Christians who worship on Suday or any other day that is?

not the Sabbath?

Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday is the Sabbath (seventh day of the week) just in case there is anyone who really doesn't know this.

All leads me to the Seven Day Adventists; what's your thoughts on them?

Update:

if this were true, that we are free to worship any day we want, this brings 2 question to mind. why did God waste his breath telling us to worship and rest on the sabbath? and are his commands suppose to be different for us now than in the old testament? i don't know, i do know you have to show me scripture to prove this. i'll look it up regardless of all the answers; i want to see who's, who.

the KJV of the bible says. you'll know them by the fruits they bare.

look at my profile i am going to know the truth. if you feel the same, that's a good thing for you. i really hope you do.

Update 2:

BTW Suzie D, i'd choose you as best answer but i don't have time to research or i would because my intuition tells me that your answer is correct.

Update 3:

thundercats9 when you talk about Col.2:16 in the KJV bible it reads, of the sabath days, not of a sabath day. the word the before sabath make sabath a specific day. the word a before sabath makes sabath idefininite, or not precice to one day

Update 4:

to thundercat9 i do not understand this new covenant and old covenant i have heard of it i just not very informed on the subject so i will reseach and find out if it's true.

Update 5:

dicord7, same thing i told thundercat9 about Col.2:16., read what i said in message to him. (above)

thank you.

Update 6:

Ronald, it appears you may be right; i'm not sure yet, i am trying to read and undersatnd fully all of Matthew 12. i beleive it will clear things up. anyways i have to sleep now, i work 3rd shift. have to catch up with this when i can, have real tight schedual this week will try to get back to it, asap.

Update 7:

LPS, Hogie and Seven Day Adventist, i have and have to look up more but i will address your answers asap as well.

thank you for patience from all.

I have watched some of the questions you are asking concerning the Bible. I believe you are in a situation many before you have experienced. There are huge conflicts between the Old and New Testaments. Christians study the Old Testament to become familiar with God and the path taken the put Christ on the earth.

In the Christian faith it becomes clear that sins are forgiven for believing Christ is the son of God and the Messiah. Christ wants us to put all our faith in Him and follow His lead. If we do so, He then takes total responsibility for our spiritual lives. We can get confused if we try to think too much about the differences in the two Testaments. If you give Him your life, as incredible as it may seem, it is what is in your heart, not your head the matters.

I wouldn't dwell much on the Sabbath day. Dwell on your love for Him and your fellow man.

The Lord's day is Sunday, the day of the resurrection. Although the Lord's Day is numerically the first day of the week, it actually represents the eighth day, which is the day of new beginnings.

The only place that keeping the Sabbath is commanded is in a covenant that the New Testament calls obsolete. True, the New Testament does not explicitly say that the Sabbath is obsolete. Instead, it says much more—that the entire old covenant is obsolete. It says that Christians do not have to keep the law of Moses. It says a large category of law is no longer required, and it never tells Christians to keep the Sabbath.

In Col. 2:16-17, Paul says, "Therefore, do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ."

If the SDA want to worship on Saturday ... fine and dandy!

John 14:15 "If you love me, keep my commandments"

Exodus 20:8-11 "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God..."

Matthew 5:17-19 "Do not think that I come to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfil. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven."

James 2:10 " For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble on one point, he is guilty of all"

1 Peter 2:21 "Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps"

Revelation 22:14-15 " Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie."

    Only one commandment Begins...

    REMEMBER ...

Remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy.

God knew people would forget the true Sabbath, so specifically told us to REMEMBER the Sabbath and keep it Holy.

The catholic church is actually the ones who changed Sabbath worship from Saturday which is the 7th day....look at any calendar....and this can be researched all the way back thru time that Saturday IS the 7th day... any how the reason the catholic church initially changed the day was because they were competing with the pagan religions for the people to attend services....soooo they moved the day to Sunday and included feasts etc... to entice the people to attend the catholic church.....LATER the catholic church said they made the change because they believed Christ resurrected on a Sunday... and thought they should worship on Sunday.

The TRUTH comes from Gods Word The Bible - and if you research ... ALL thru the bible you will see that the 7th day is Sabbath....which is Saturday.

Now I think we should 'remember the sabbath and keep it holy' as God asked us to.

I also believe ANY day is a good day to worship, praise , commune with God...

but we are specifically told to REMEMBER the seventh day and to keep it holy.

Just spend time with Him.... thats what wants us to want to do.

Your question works from a false premise.

The sabbath was not a day of communal worship. There is not one example of Christians gathering together for communal worship on a sabbath. The Jewish Christians would have been at their dwellings, resting on that day.

Christians are free to worship whenever and wherever they so choose. Under the old covenant, people could only worship in Jerusalem.

The SDA twists everything, and employs all the methods of deceptions to teach their legalism. This claim that the sabbath was for communal worship is but one of them. It was a day of rest. It was a day Israelites were to remain in their dwellings. It was a day they were seen as being in God's presence on that day, seeing as it was a holy convocation (another term they redefine).

You have to understand that back in biblical times the week was not a "seven" day week. In those days they went by the solar calendar. We use the "gregorian" calendar.

    Also...

Sabbath does NOT mean "seven" or "seventh", but rather it, sabbath means "rest".

In english "sabbath" and "seven" sound similar but in the ancient Hebrew language it was a totally different thing.

We should worship everyday because everyday is the sabbath or rest day when we love God in Jesus Christ's name. He is our sabbath; our rest.

"Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath."

    King James Bible

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holiday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Colossians 2:16

Christians do not live by the feasts and holidays of the law...Sabbath was made for man, not the other way around..It's not the day itself, but what you do with the day you choose to make your sabbath..

I think they are worshipping the right way if they worship on Sunday or and any other day besides Sunday because St. Paul says that one day is the same as the next day because they are all the Lord's day but we especially look to Sunday because it is the day the Lord rose from the dead.
