How long do I cook this for?
I'm making corned beef today, but I'm making two in the same pot so all together it's around 9lbs of corned beef goodness. My recipes says about 50min per pound. Is that for each piece of beef (4.5lb avg = around 4 hours)? or for the total amount of beef (9lbs = 8hours)?
8 hours seems like a really long time and I don't want to overcook, then again, I don't want raw corned beef either. What do I do here?

It doesn't matter how many you have in the same pot. You cook it as directed for one.
Think of it this way. If the directions for boiling an egg said 8 minutes and you were cooking two at the same time, you wouldn't cook them for 16 minutes.

those being 2 separate pieces the time would apply separately...so 4 hours should be fine...
