Why is Gordon Brown being allowed to stand in the Election?

He was never voted into his position, it was sort of gifted to him by Tony Blair. I think that it's wrong to expect the British public to put their trust in somebody who has not been chosen as leader of his party but managed to wangle his way in by being a Tony Blair brown-noser..

You're unhappy because Brown didn't win an election to become PM, but you don't think he should be allowed to take part in an election for PM? Make up your mind what you want...

To my way of wondering;Gordon Brown chanced on the reveal screen as a drained and wiped out, has been flesh presser who had considered more desirable proper days in politics and larger importantly; no longer some thing to furnish.. His variety of bullying and dominating the political debates replaced into thwarted by technique of being compelled pay interest to the different 2 leaders. With this un polished lacklustre performance of Gordon Brown's it is been predicted that it has value the Labour social gathering a minimum of 10-20 marginal Labour social gathering seats. Peter Mandelson has in my opinion finished the Labour social gathering a dis service in forcing Gordon Brown onto the Labour individuals of Parliament. and this passive none resistance stance by technique of a submissive Labour social gathering would likely see them placed third in the back of the Liberal Democrats.

I actually agree with chocolate starfish. The electorate of which he is one, will vote for the propaganda they believe the most. I am happy in the knowledge though that the party he follows will still be a marginal party and that common sense will prevail. The electorate are not stupid and have the vision to know what is lies and what is the truth. Propaganda comes in many forms.

    Why shouldn't he?

If people in Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath don't like him there is always the option of voting for someone else.

No one should be barred from standing - the electorate will show by their votes who is fit to hold office and who isn't.

EDIT: Then how sad, Chocolate Starfish, that the rest of the electorate don't share the perception, wisdom and intellectual superiority that you, and the rest of the BNP mob seem to enjoy.

Funny you wouldn't know they were such higher beings from looking at them. Or talking to them. Or listening to them. Or reading their words.

the electorate will show by their votes who is fit to hold office and who isn't.

not quite correct...the electorate will vote based on the lies, propoganda and dirty tricks used by the political parties....their media sponsors and money backers in order to fool the electorate that they are fit to hold office
